axle blew a seal

i had a few questions. i need to know what axle i have. the sticker says C9. i remember being told 3.55's with a 9 inch ford rear? because i called the local parts store and they said it either came with dana 44 or dana 60. there was no listing for a ''ford 9 inch''.

the seal that blew was on the pass side. but the inlet part of the axle seal is leaking as well. i was wondering how hard it is to change these seals?

so the ''ford 9 inch'' is a dana 50? and what do you mean center chunk? the insides of the pumpkin?

because i was told that the axle slides right on for doing the right hand seal. im wondering if i should just bring it in to get it done?

update:

i just went outside after looking on a website it says that the ford 9 inch is supposed to have 10 bolts. well mine has 12. so i have the 10.25 according to this site.

O, you meant rear axle.

you have a sterling 10.25.
a 9" only came in 1/2 tons
