7.3 turbo IDI for the new year

So I finally popped my original head gasket on my 6.9 and have a 7.3 turbo ready to drop in in its place. Before I drop it in, it only makes sense to do whatever needs to be done to it beforehand.

I'll prolly step up to a Moose pump and injectors, stud the head and rebuild the turbo. Aside from the basics, what else should I do before dropping it in my truck? You guys know these engines way better than anyone else and it only pays to ask these questions ahead of time.

Absolutely, unequivocally redo the oil cooler o rings and gaskets!

May want to stick NEW GP's in for sake of no issues and knowing they are good to go!

Perhaps a new thermostat, and if your studding head, why not port them too. As well now's the time to do a Typ4 cam or J2 cam too if it's possible!

I'm a big fan of inspect and repair/replace prior to install...so to me if it's a used engine, inspect front seal surface for harmonic balancer and speedy sleeve or not as needed inspect rear main...same...

Hope these put some good thoughts into yer head...
