So this the white one is a na 7.3 idi 5 speed and my current winter vehicle the brown one is it’s replacement. IDI block = IDIT block
If you have an IDI block you can make it into an IDIT easily. The blocks are the same. Only the rods, wrist pins and pistons are specific to the turbo. I'm not sure about the crank. Altitude affecting Turbo IDIT causing smoke?
I picked up a '94 IDIT last week. Bone stock. The altitude where I did my test drive was 157' asl. Could not make it smoke. Drove it home 870 miles with a big grin on my face. Averaged 15.7 mpg, which isn't too bad considering the bed was loaded and the speed was 80-82mph for most of the trip...- ocnorb
