At that boost level, you need an intercooler. Very hot air entering the combustion chamber.
I don't know specifically that is contributing to you problem, but just in general practice it'll give you better overall performance.
I understand your wanting to be pro-active. When I got my 93', 16 years ago, it was fairly beat.
I was working in Houston and living between Atlanta and Virginia. I had a 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 at the time but it was too pretty/luxurious and not strong enough to do the work I needed to do. I also...
I have a very good friend who now lives in Texas that when we were in Atlanta worked for Chrysler corporate. We're talking 1996-2007.
For a while he was the last guy to see your vehicle before a lemon law claim was accepted after every other resource was exhausted.
He was near 90% success...
We didn't have a lake to contend with, just sheer cliffs on a narrow and twisty 2 lane. Also snow and ice in the winter.
In fact, there wasn't a winter I recall where the bus didn't do a 360 on the ice heading down the mountain to school at least once. Somehow no one ever got hurt.

2 in each of the 4 doors.
2 in the front and 2 in the back of the center console.
And 2 in the fold down thingy in the rear seat.

This is cup holder related. I promise.
In the car with the video of the cup holders in action lies a 7 year old battery. It is actually the consumer battery. Starting battery is less than a year old.
Anyway, every "Knowledgeable" Merc guy I know of swears you cannot run a consumer...
Not the "O" but years ago at advance I had bought a new A/C compressor, lifetime warranty. It failed in 6 months. I got it replaced. That one failed. Their excuse for not replacing it a 2nd time? We discontinued that part number so we can't warranty it. ***?
Yeah they lost my business that day...
