1984 6.9l Rough Idle and Surging
I'll be sure to try that with the injectors. And it went from idling beautifully after I first got it running again to now running really rough. It's got a brand new fuel filter that I filled with diesel kleen. It should still have about half a tank of diesel in the tank (the gauge doesn't work...- Rix_IV

Thank you for the link. The lowest year it shows is 1985 and CDX825 said that there are some differences between the sending units from 83/84 to the 85's. Does anyone know what I'd need to do if I wanted to just put an 85 sending unit in?- Rix_IV

Yes that is what I'm going to be replacing. Is there a specific one that you would suggest? There seems to be a lot of different ones and they all seem to say for 1985 and up. Is there something different about the sending units for the 83's and 84's?- Rix_IV

Yes it's an 84, I thought I put it on my profile but I'll have to double check! That's good to hear about the front sender as that is the one I'll be replacing first because I want to use both of my tanks. And that doesn't sound bad for the bed removal, I might have to try that out. Thank you...- Rix_IV
