i have since located an '86 complete engine for cheap, from what i've read it sounds like i would be better off buying this and junking the '84 block? Maybe sell extra parts?- smoky6-9

I have recently purchased and disassembled a 6.9l out of an '84 f250. I discovered water in the cylinders and the rust pitting in the cylinder walls. im doing this engine as a rebuild project for school so I am willing to spend the time and money to do it right. I plan on boring the cylinders...- smoky6-9

much appreciated, do you recommend resurfacing to prevent leaks or do these engines have a tendency to warp heads?- smoky6-9

Also on the camshafts side of things, is r&d worth the money otherwise I’ve heard good things of Typ4 I believe his username is?- smoky6-9

Thank you that helps alot! I’ve read some about the king bearings being tri-metal but I haven’t heard anyone talk about king bearings, they must not be good haha- smoky6-9
