The transmission is out yes. I'm upgrading all the parts to 4r100 specs with triple disc converter. I'll find a tight fit pipe. When I put the input shaft in there, it feels like it's not grabbing anything. The flex plate can bend like an 1/8 inch away from the converter.
I am guessing that the pilot snub is stuck inside the flexplate. I need some suggestions on getting it out. I have tried air shims between the flex plate and the converter. hammering it. Using the input shaft as a leverage. I cant seem to get the thing off. Im about to grind the converter in...
I have the same impact damage on mine. I don't see any aluminum stress marking tho. The ones you see when you bend aluminum and it starts yielding. Just dents. There are some 12 lug steel planetary but they're 700 bucks. My truck only has 140 ponies haha. I don't plan on racing anyone in...
I was actually reading up on your rebuild. How do you feel about the rear planet 6 pinion? You had to use the stamped hub with it? I feel like the 4 planet aluminum with the cast steel hub works better.
the bolts are coming with the new rebuild kit. you're right about that teflon. It could clog some passages. Are the spacers home made or something? I havent seen those. Torquing that bolt to 10foot pounds doesnt seem much to hold it. i might just put a drop of jb weld on the bearing surface of...
i have the platinum series. If you have a parasitic drain, dont get it. My batteries wont charge back up to 12.6v. its stuck at 10v. granted, i have had it for 2 years. it still kicks the engine on. had 3 jump starts for the last year. i charge it every 2 months
I have recently torn down and in the process of rebuilding my transmission. I lost all gears in the middle of the freeway. Come to find out, that my feed bolts are loose. Lots of metal shavings inside the pan too after 50k miles trans fluid. I have updated all of the hard parts to 4r100 specs...
I've looked it up before. lots of videos online.
Unless fuel goes up to 7bucks a gallon, to me, its just not worth it right now. The time I spent collecting oil and just centrifuging it is not worth my time. Relatively speaking, my time is expensive.
I was about to buy the same product but the truck had something else in mind. The water pump started leaking haha. My oil temps doesnt warm up as fast as the coolant. it takes about 30 min to get the oil up to 150f. When I start up the engine, oil pressure seems so slow to get up at 40psi at...
Big box ambulance you really need it. Even merging makes it so comfortable. I can see the assholes that speed and avoid the lane

My cap was hissing before and thought it was normal. I noticed that the area around the cap would get hard water stains around it, like the cap was leaking coolant. I did a coolant flush and found out that the reserve tank nipple was clogged with dirt. I tried blowing air through the reservoir...
steering gear box for sure. the "center" is made to be tight so that your steering stays straight. when the adjustment screw is turned too tight, or if it's worn out, youd feel that resistance in the center a lot stronger, like its binding. you can try losening the adjustment screw and see what...
I havent tried adjusting it. It was raining last weekend and the truck needs to run for a living. Ive been downshifting manually for now but Ive been getting terrible mileage for a while now.
