Good to know thanks, We just got 4000 litres of that given to us from the local meatworks and have been wondering if it would be okay ......... we'll now find an alternative use for it.
I would love a wrecker like you have ..... the equivalent of that here is at least 40k. We haul most things with a trailer or old underpowered ramp trucks unless you have gold lined pockets for a slide deck.
Fingers crossed but i haven't had anything go wrong on either mine, my fathers or my brothers powerstrokes apart from a leaking oil cooler in the last few months.
Allthough i did discover that my dad's one has collapsed the standard air filter after only a couple of thousand km...... he's...
I just re read your original post .... i brought an old coal fired boiler which used to run those big old cast iron radiators that some people had in their homes - we had similar in our old high school. The unit i have ran 10 radiators and i converted it to waste oil by fitting a forced fan...
So far i've burnt 1500 litres of the transformer oil in the powerstroke , seems to have a little more power and doesn't smoke at all. When i first tried it i added 10% petrol as it was winter and the oil was noticeably thicker than diesel, after a couple of tanks i ran it at 100% and startup is...
What about running one of those cheaper indian steam power generators .... use wmo instead of wood to fire it up. Failing that grab an older diesel engine like a 4jb1t isuzu which will run wmo just fine and hook it up to a generator.
Frame mounted electric pump up to and through the fuel filter bowl , electrically switched unit injectors driven by a mechanically driven high pressure oil supply pump ... up to 21000psi fuel injection pressure
I've been running waste transformer oil in my 02 super duty for over 4000km and no issues to date , i've got a mate that has 50000km of running in a 07 VW crafter common rail diesel - no issues there either.
I have the ext cab too .... it is a pita at times especially if you want to take passengers. Does it look like much modification to the crew cab to make it fit on the ext cab chassis?
My plan was to run an idi in my F150 ... never found one to sling in there but did wind up buying a written off 02 Super duty with the 7.3 psd which i repaired over time and managed to get it back on the road. I've got just over 4000km running it on used transformer oil which i prefilter with an...
This is that guy with the wlt
There is also a guy that goes by the name of kerrynzl who runs it in a 4m40 pajero ... he is scattered across a few forums too.
There is a guy in Nelson who is running wmo in a 2.5 wlt courier , i'll see if i can find his youtube channel for you...... there is also another bloke in CHCH who was running wmo in a 3.1 bighorn. there is a fb page dedicated to alt fuel in oz and they have guys running veg oil in them there...
I put php from Jellibuilt into a 02 c/c for my Father ...... nearly a year later and you still can't wipe the smile off his face whenever he drives it !!!
I've built one of these ..... progress stalled when life got in the way but it's sitting there ready to be finished.

The govt doesn't trust us not to pay taxes lol (in my workshop business i have to "prepay" next years tax this year based on an estimate of my earnings)..... you always have to have mileage up front , if you get caught and you are less than 1000km over your mileage sticker then you'll normally...
All our crude produced here is exported as it's considered "sweet/light" apparently. We do have a refinery but there is a lot of refined product imported as well. Our fearless leader of the current govt has put a moratorium on further exploration for oil but we have mapped out some pretty decent...
You buy your mileage up front in 1000km increments..... all light vehicles undergo a comprehensive safety inspection at 6 or 12 monthly intervals depending on the year of manufacture - pre 2000 it's 6 monthly and 2000 or later it's 12 monthly. God help you if you are over your ruc/mileage when...
Here diesel is not taxed at the pump for any vehicle - rather the govt charges for a distance licence which varies depending on the weight band you fall into.
Something like an idi f250 would fall between 3.5 ton and 6 ton so would pay 8.2 cents per Km (under 3.5 ton glw it's 7.6 cents/km) , a...
