    Cooling liquid specification?

Thanks lad's, @ mike, I didn't jet read your links, but in the past I read much about it for our engines. since the SCA's are a pretty unknown thing here in europe, (everybody I asked about, even autoparts store guys were not aware that such thing exists.) Therefore I think that having the valid...

    Cooling liquid specification?

Hello, Here in Europe we mostly like to use coolant ready from the factory instead of that you have it yourself to mix it. Now I wonder, in vieuw of these SCA's is there a Ford Spec. wich includes these SCA's? and which spec would that be? I also heard of these inspection strips, which A) are...

Wheel alignment on a dually, how is it done in the USA?

Exactly, it's just this what I was told they couldn't handle here.

Wheel alignment on a dually, how is it done in the USA?

Wheel alignment on a dually, how is it done in the USA? To my knowledge here in the EU wheels need to be in one line (front to rear) for the shops to do it right. (I might be wrong, but that is what I was told so far). So, I'm curious how they do it at your side of the pond? where the Duallies...

you'll laugh when I tell you this, but do you know why it's hard to see moose with LED lights? because basicly LED lighting is based on blue light, where Halogen is based on yellow light. And in all that is at the side of the road, apart from road signs and the alike, there is hardly any blue's...

I find the way those standard units project the light on the road horrible!, those two dot's of light! maybe that was ok for a T-Ford, but not for our trucks! I refuse to but these standard light units again, and go look for something different as well. are there some better images of how these...

Is this excessive play in the steering joints or not? '89 F-350 4x4

Oh yes, I forgot, but at one of these sleeves which supposedly is intended for the 4WD, and the upper-outer tie rod (the one attached to the pitman arm) and you look at the "info" tab it says that it has Counter Clockwise thread, while it needs clockwise thread. That makes I don't want to order...

Is this excessive play in the steering joints or not? '89 F-350 4x4

@You2slow, as I wrote, from the pitman arm down, you have the tie rod with 1-18tpi clockwise, then the sleeve for this same thread, (and that is the problem, from those numbers I can't find one sleeve who has in it's description if it has Cw or CCw tread) and the straight bar with 1-18tpi (Cw)...

Is this excessive play in the steering joints or not? '89 F-350 4x4

Ok, since nobody came up with a workable solution for me to get the original part numbers, I had very many problems to find the right parts at R***A*to. I think I'm almost there, maybe someone can help me for the following? I need the correct tie rod end adjusting sleeve (from the pitman arm to...

If you like to do so, you might need the 4x4 dually rims, the 235's might touch with the original set up. and the 4x4 rims (originally) have a slightly different offset, so that the 235's (original mounting) doesn't touch.

Using mech fuel pump as an air compressor??

Hi Scott, Wrong! though you must adapt the principle a little bit... It needs lubrication, how to do that: use airline oil misters at the air intake, and a oil separator at the exit, use aircompressor materials for that. Good luck.

    O'Reilly tie rods any good?

everything NOS with rubber inside I would stay away from, since you don't know how long it was stocked and in which conditions. Such a NOS liftpump can be installed and give up the ghost whithin 5 minutes... :-(

Is this excessive play in the steering joints or not? '89 F-350 4x4

That might be a good Idea, though I saw somewhere that there is a specification, which gives that there is a limit for how far they might be "clocked" probably because this system needs that movement of those bars??? Yes, that "S-S-S-S" sound I noticed and chased that already a long time, and...

Is this excessive play in the steering joints or not? '89 F-350 4x4

I did, and to make sure that they sent me the right parts, I thought to go from the original part numbers, to which the parts on RA refers to. from what I can find on their site I find it confusing of which parts go together when they are in my garage, I hope you understand? It is not the first...

Is this excessive play in the steering joints or not? '89 F-350 4x4

Two things, I can't search on that, since I have not a US adress, second, in 1989 they seem to not have a F-350????? only a F-250 superduty, or a F53 stripped chassis?????? anyway, thanks for the link, but it seems useless to me???

Xolatem, I completely agree with you, Danke shun... :) I did have the wheels on the ground in that video though.and somebody at the wheel quickly alternating left and right. Yes, as I try to indicate, I think the inspector is wrong in this case, because what I see here is all "roll" no play.

developed some play in the steering

I don't think that these splines goes in all the way, I think that these splines are only in that "puck" at the bottom of that upper tube, would there be a way you can replace or rework those splines in that "puck"?

My truck was tested for it's annual Technical test or whatever you call that in the US? The mechanic said this (see the video) was too much play on the steering joints? To be fair, I hardly see any play, yes I see that the bars move, but I don't see that as "play" more as normal movement...

OMG! I'll better start building a N(EW) OS truck! @gandalf, A Pyrometer when the engine has no turbo? would you care to explain? (I've only heard that a pyrometer serves with turbo's?) It has the 10.25 .410 dually rear. And yes, when I put the trans in for overhauling we had spoken for the...
