I am giving away my zf5 that was behind a 7.3 idi for who ever wants it. Cleaning up garage and it’s in the way. Figured best place who would want it is here. Don’t have any information as far as shape internally. It is a close ratio.
I’m in north western Kansas if interested. Sorry won’t ship.
Yup exactly what I needed. Sorry you had to do the leg work for me I looked at other salvage yards but came up with nothing. This web site never came up or I didn’t click on it.
Thanks again
Oil filter header started leaking on me so I pulled out cooler out and it was cracked. I’m looking for the part to fix this rear casting so I can get this going again. Anyone have one that’s reasonably priced?
Thanks
Relay is good. I have a led light hooked up right in front of electric pump to tell me if it's has voltage or not. Thought of that too awhile back thinking relay might be bad.
Thewespaul your correct that's what it did When I tried restricting it.
I'll hook both facets up today and if it's...
Very true on restricting the return. I did that tonight and it didn't like it. Stumbles. Placed a 1/4" valve on it and pinched it down 3/4 way. Must be something to do with injection pump not releasing the pressure for return. I have two options, run both of my facet pumps in parallel or get...
Yea I blew through both directions when tanks were off. Actually traced line out while back to check same thing. Sorry I didn't mention that.
What about a restriction in the tanks switch valve? Though about running both facet pumps in parallel but that's just going to be a bandaid. I like to...
I have a 93 7.3idi N/A that is having issues with fuel pressure delivery. I was running the Facet 40222 which is capable of 33gph. When pulling camper up a hill at 60-65mph, and when I say hill it's no longer than a 1/2 mile, the fuel pressure will drop down below zero on gauge and fuel filter...
Locked it in 4 this morning to see if it would tighten thinks up. Now the noise is considerably a lot quieter. Now I'm not sure if it's not coming from tranni and could be transfer case chain as in being a loose chain.
I've never beat it like this before so couldn't say it did or didn't make...
Let me reiterate on my post. Don't really think your problem is with the solenoids, but I would venture to guess its with your valve body or when it gets warm you reverse clutches. You probably have the e4od tranni??
You say it won't go into neutral? Does it feel like it's trying to engage in a forward gear when it's in neutral? If so could be a solenoid problem or a sticky valve body. Went through this on my sons truck manually shifting the solenoids while driving. Ended up being the 2-3 up shift in valve...
Just finished this afternoon with my reman 93' zf-s42 with 7.3 idi. new clutch, pilot bearing, throwout bearing. Shifts great and smooth but I have a noise that's bothering me. This noise only happens off idle and burping the throttle off and on. Something sounds loose or bearing out. There's a...
Most of you will already have the service manual for the zf5. There is a good write up under Kawamatt detailing this process. Unfortunately the link is gone that he has at the bottom of the write up. I did find another pdf of this here...
Got a Holley red on mine. It has 8.5 psi at idle and 3 psi under full load. Which is too low. I just had it laying around so put it on. They require more than a person thinks.
Going to upgrade to a facet.
Replacing the clutch in my 93 7.3 idi. Lots of problems with the zf5, needs syncro's, reverse pops out, noisy in 3rd, and was looking into either getting this one rebuilt or going the easy route and buying a rebuilt one from a place that is reputable and best cost. Any suggestions of where to...
appreciate everyone's help. I found info of what I was looking for. It was an add on spacer. #4 in pdf.

I own a 93 7.3 idi. The question I hope that can get answered is my water pump currently has what I am going to call a extension nut. Or at least I think it is as all other 6.9 and 7.3's I have seen doesn't have this. I have tried to hold down the water pump pulley with a chain in one of the...
