    Anyone had this problem?

So I kept tinkering and double checked both pinyon nuts and they were pretty loose. Vibration went down pretty well. May need a rebuild eventually, but I'm going to get a few more miles out of it. Also put 3 more pumps of grease in the rear ujoint and that play reduced as well.

    Anyone had this problem?

Awesome. Sounds like I get to do more research/work. Do you think changing the yoke would be easier than swapping the axle? I'm guessing if all this stuff is squirrely, it might be time for a complete driveline rebuild. Either that, or someone on here can hand me $6K and make it their problem...

    Anyone had this problem?

Vibration occurs at about 50 and 75mph. Increases frequency between 75 and 80 which I don't do for long. I replaced all 3 rear u-joints, but it still persists. I'm beginning to think the bearing behind the differential yokes are going out since there is a little play on both ends. Also, when I...

    Anyone had this problem?

That is where I started to try to rule out the driveline. Saw them pull and balance all 4 while I waited. Pressures filled to specs inside door. Have no idea what else to check.

    Anyone had this problem?

So took it out for a short drive today and the vibration still exists. What's the next area of focus?

    Anyone had this problem?

I do have and use a torque wrench, but don't remember being able to find the specs for these bolts when I rebuilt the ZF6. I'll definitely watch it on the next couple of rides and if they loosen again, I'll Loctite them. Side note, I was able to grease the rearmost u-joint (zirc fitting) but...

    Anyone had this problem?

So admittedly, I don't drive my trucks very often. I used my 2000 to make a couple of runs over the past few weeks and noticed a vibration at 75mph. Stopped by the tire shop since I was out and my pressures were all over the place, so they corrected them and it made a slight improvement. Next...

Truck Hard to start when cold

Really sounds like air intrusion to me. Happened last time I changed the fuel filter and was a simple fix solved by a little extra grunting while tightening the filter. Sometimes, if your bowl has a petcock at the bottom, loosening and then tightening it back up helps too, plus will purge any...

    Amsoil synchromesh in ZF-5

The Pennzoil version didn't make enough of a difference, so I ended up rebuilding with a new synchro/bearing kit. I did refill with new Pennzoil and haven't had any issues since.

    Vacuum lines

Not sure if it helps, but I ordered 50' of motorcraft hose for $63 bucks a while back and it's the only size I needed. Also replaced the "coffee can" reservoir. Hose part# was DOPZ-12226-B

    Too loud?

Just put a MBRP S6200P Turbo Back Single Side Exhaust System on my 2000 F250. Surprised how much difference it made. Discharged right behind right rear tire (routed up over axle). Amazon $329 +free shipping to my door in an 80lb box.

    vacuum brake booster

Check that coffee can ( Mine is behind the DS headlight on my 92), your manifold, and one way check valves. Cheap replacement. New vacuum lines aren't that expensive either. Think I bought a 25' spool of motorcraft line for not much of anything.

    Into the deep end...

Well, good news is, I got it rebuilt. Bad news is, my swear jar is full and I didn't take any pictures. Once I figured out how everything worked, it really wasn't bad. They really only go back together one way. New clutch is great and trans is nice and tight with the shifts sans grinding. It...

Thoughts for how to wire this

What about a cell phone charger? Seems like similar output. What kind of end is on the plug? If it's a USB type, this wiuwo be the way to go.

    Into the deep end...

Haven't updated my signature line, but my 92 NA was lonely, so I bought her this 2000 PSD to play with. It's the ZF6. Got everything apart easy enough. Just waiting on a couple of tools to tear into the transmission.

    Into the deep end...

While I had everything apart, figured I'd do a ceramic clutch upgrade too. Still waiting on the tools to pull the gears off the transmission, but have everything apart. https://photos.app.goo.gl/sP8S12NcvUgvcGTJA https://photos.app.goo.gl/Tdm7zSHFy2fB2y7P6

    Into the deep end...

So after much searching for a donor trans, I've decided to try to rebuild the ZF6 myself. About $250 in parts and a couple of additional tools I didn't own. Parts should be in this week, and as soon as my concrete isn't a block of ice, I'll get under and take pictures of the process. Mainly...

    Interchangeable years and trans update

No. Sorry I wasn't clear. Looking for bolt on, swappable parts (not just the trans) within year range. Basically so I could find a donor vehicle for parts. For example: 2011-present 1999.5 to 2010 1988-1999 1977-1987 etc.

    Interchangeable years and trans update

It is still grinding a bit. 1st gear for sure, but 2nd did get quieter. I wasn't asking the swappable years only for the trans. I also have a 92 NA. Just looking for the years. I was thinking it was something like 1999.5-2006. Can't remember the years pre-99.5 or how far the range goes towards...

    Interchangeable years and trans update

I've been digging through this site and the internet to find out what years have parts that are swappable to other years. Can someone clear this up? As an aside, I swapped out my trans fluid (ZF6/Pennzoil synchromesh). Should I notice an immediate improvement, or does it need to be swished...

    ZF6 grinding

Looked all over locally, but ended up ordering online. I'll get it in this week and post the results. Have a few other things I'm going to put on as well.

    ZF6 grinding

Never thought about filling from top. Wasn't hard from underneath with my pump. I'll pick some up and give it a go.

    ZF6 grinding

SA is a bit of a haul from my NE corner up here, but if it comes to it, I'm guessing they'd be worth it. As far as fluid, I'm pretty sure I'm just running synthetic atf per manual. Don't remember brand, but I never buy cheap. I also replaced the slave/master combo. Do you know what kind of...

Wes, cheap is relative. How much are you talking and what is the turnaround time?

    ZF6 grinding

Trying to put out the feelers on this. Recently purchased a 2000 F250 4x4. Had a decent grind from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. I'm thinking it's the synchros. Put fresh fluids in and it quieted down, but still bad when downshifting. Question is, do I year this thing apart and try to rebuild...
