I bought the truck back on thanksgiving with plans to tow with it, first the radiator started leakin so i got a new one 300$, then the tie-rods had to be replaced 150$.. then my engine leaked real bad so I redid half the gaskets. then one...
So I was driving down the freeway(downhill)... cruising at about 65 mph, and i heard a pretty good clunk and my truck was in neutral. so i got over and start to pull over and it clunked again. now the o/d light started flashing. I pull over and check everything out fluid was good nothing leaking...
I picked up a spare 7.3 and e4od today, gonna tear it down and pray that theres no cavitation. But what kind of modifications are usually done to these motors to run boost? where can I get parts.
I've built gas motors before with the basics for FI(low comp pistons, mls gaskets, ported heads)...
Well, I kinda screwed myself took the injection pump off to replace a leaking gasket and I "thought" I could get it on/off without moving the gear. nope. I moved the pump gear throwing all the timing off.
Now, I ask are there any GOOD articles with pictures on how to get it aligned and how to...
I can't find the shift cable anywhere, Napa, Kragen, Autzone no one has it.
Dealer wants over 100$ for it.
Anyone find one for cheaper? Its the cable from the trans to the column and its the E4OD trans, 7.3 IDI on a 92 Ext. Cab f250
