    Bed came back off to get the shackle flip done But when i did the shackle flip it shortened my wheel base a couple inches... So now my rear axle wasnt centered in my fenderwell anympre, so i got a little creative. I trimmed the front of the wheel well and then welded part of it back in...

    I have a bunch of pics on the way soon, got the rear shackle flip done and the rear blocks out, so i finally got to test out how much the leaf springs would flex and i was surprised!

    Thanks, i plan on putting it through its paces every chance i get, when you have a pto winch to get yourself out then theres really nothing to be scared of.

    I havent had good luck with the e4od trans but my milage was amazing with it, i couldnt keep them together in a tow rig. Ive never blown up a c6 and i know theres plenty of aftermarket for it if i need it. I love to see idi powered dents though, someday id like to have one for a dd.

    Thanks! Im making sure i take my time on this build and make it EXACTLY the way i want it, im glad to see others noticing all the little details that i hope will make my truck stand out from others. Its also really cool to see how many others on here are getting into idi swappin the old fords!

    I have wanted to go through with this project for years but never had enough motivation, my favorite trucks are late 70's fords and my favorite powerplant is the idi's. i think if ford would have had the idi motors in the 70's fords that they would have been the best looking and most reliable...

    Got the blocks out of the front last night, the spring perches are 2 1/2" but i can live with that. Going to do the shackle flip on the rear axle tonight and build up the shackle mounts on both ends.

    Next thing i did was put a nice new straight front bezel on and convert the front end to tilt front, i really like the new front end! Old front bezel New front bezel And the tilt front all done

    I could never go new, i love the old oddball trucks too much. Im also working on putting together a 78' bronco dd with a turbo'd 300 I6 4spd. And a legend/dwarf truck that i converted to four wheel drive with two transmissions, it will also be road legal in iowa

    More pics of boxing the frame, its very time consuming but necessary. The crossmembers in the rear are temporary just until i get the tubing i need Got the front frame blasted and stripped down today

    shortening a 1993 f350 frame to fit a '78 f250 body

    I took 8" out of the '90 frame to put my '79 stepside body on it. I did a straight cut and plated the frame. Im also boxing my entire frame though and have been a welder by profession all my life. I will have no issues with it. My build thread is on here if you want to check it out.

    Got almost all of the rear frame boxed in just have to start adding cross members Neighbor kid thought it was a monster truck Set the bed back on temporarily, looks much better with the frame at the correct lenght

    7.3 idi in a 1970's ford truck any one does this?

    I am working on a build right now using a shortened 91' f250 frame with my 79 stepside body, 7.3 idi,2wd c6, divorced 205, rockwells and 18.4x16.1's. the thread is on here
