Don't know anything about duramax, but my 2000 superduty used to act up in wet conditions, and no codes were present. Changed cps and it has not died since! Mine would cut out going down the road (loose all power) and start back up on its own after a few seconds! Hope that helps some!
Was going to suggest pushing compressed air (carefully) into fill hole on fuel tank! I had same starting issues on a new build 6.9 about 13 years ago and was stumped as well! Was getting wet injector lines and fuel at Schrader but no run! Pressured tank up with air and she primed right up and...
Just realized( i was born backwards, .... But I'm coming around!) my 2000 super duty has the dual din with cassette player! I suppose a guy could just listen to them in there! My 92 came with a crappy dual (brand) stereo with no display and a mind of its own, so I took the stock stereo out of...
79jasper spot on with tensioner! Thanx! The only problem with that was I had to change entire bracket with vac pump, ps pump and ac! The two tensioners are specific to their own bracket! Why do they make their own lives so complicated at the ford factory!
I'm would rather figgure out how to make the two I have fit! They seem to be a more common belt!
Might help with confusion in the future! Just my thoughts!
Found a belt at carquest that is supposedly 114 inches, but had to be ordered, and then they said none of the suppliers had one! Wish I had a Napa here!
Problem is I have one dry rot cracked belt that fits, and two new ones that are to short! Running crappy one now but would like to use one of the two new ones, but can't pin point what the difference is! And won't fit! I'll switch out some stuff tomorrow! Gotta get the booger eaters washed up...
Just swapped a 93 motor into my 92 f250! For some reason the serp belt is shorter on the 92??? I have measured the pulleys, and they both have all the same features, and have even swapped out idler pulleys! Can't figgure out why they are different! I bought a stock 93 belt thinking that would...
Good point! Providing you could stream old basement recordings of Chris ledoux! Haha I have a smartphone....... But I am not! It's capable of way more than I am! And there's no replacement for the fun of rolling your tape back up with ink pen after your deck tried to have it for lunch! Or fwd or...
I was pretty sure they made a cd/am-fm! My 98 dodge had cd/ tape and am/fm, but not sure what that was considered, dual din or din and a half? They still sell cassette decks?
I am wondering if ford made a single den factory stereo that played both cassette tapes and CDs? And if so, does anyone have a good functioning one they would like to part with? I have a pile of old Chris ledoux tapes I would like to listen to! Also have CDs but can play them in the superduty...
With a budget of $8000, I would go 97 obs! Good usable power awesome package and then keep it mechanically sound drive train wise! Meanwhile!..... Find a 12 valve and progressively build it up the way you want and buy conversion parts as you have the means! Then when the powderchoke gets tired...
what are you using the truck for, would be my question! An idi is a labor of love and creates a mystical loyalty among its owners! Its kinda like a Harley in that sense! You know it's not the fastest, you know it's not the most powerful, you know that it's going to leave a dab of oil on the...

There are not many of anything that you can call a Legend but the Navistar/International DT466 diesel engine has to fall into that category.
If...
Will eliminating it affect the towing! I haul cattle quite a bit and like how it slows the load! Don't bother me much, just seems like it robs low end boost more now than it used to! I doesn't sound like it could be good on the turbo, as rapidly as it releases! But I don't know much about it!
