I love the B King 181 hp stock, its a scream to ride the thing. But i must admit some people like its looks and others don't like it. The street fighter idea did not go over as big in the USA at it did in Europe... Its a blast when you have some one pull up next to ya and they have no idea...
the more weight the more pressure it lets to the back brakes. If you run with no weight out back for a long time it will set up and stop working. Its like a poor man's ABS to keep you from getting too much brakes and spinning out when you have no load. I took mine out on my F450, it was set...
Cool welcome to the club!! you can in most cases find the weight posted on one the inside of one of the cupboard doors. You should find the dry weight and then the loaded GVW.
Here is the link to our camper... http://www.toyhaulermagazine.com/adrenaline.html
when you get the chance post up...
Sue got the 2008 1250S Bandit last year when we traded in her older 2000 1200S Bandit. Here is her other cycle with the Busa and my big block 1970stang
nope it not a 650 its my wife's Bandit 1250S... I own a 2000 Busa, a 2008 B King and the wife's 1250S Bandit we love to camp and take the cycles with us. The camper has a fuel station in it to gas the cycles and run the generator total of 70 gal of gas. it also has a 200 gal fresh water tank...
No stock radiator on the truck I don't know but I would guess being its an F450 it may be a little bigger..... I could be wrong... Truck has 10 bolt rims and disk brakes all the way around.
I pulled my other toy hauler that was 11000 pounds loaded, it had no on board gas tanks, only 80 gal. of fresh water and two cycles. It pulled ok non turbo with out the 80 gal of water on board. But add 80 gal of water and the truck on some hills felt like it was at its limits. Pulling long...
7.3 IDI F450 with ATS Aurora 2000 turbo and ZF5 speed with 5.13 rear gears pulling 38 foot 16000 pounds of camper, cycles, 200 gal of fresh water and 70 gal of gas (camper has generator and fuel station for gas up cycles). Never runs over 1000*F for egt and no intercooler.. The IDI is a work...
My truck had the same problem when I got it.. Bolts with no lock tight in the fly wheel caused them to back out. The the side to side slaming action on the loose bolts of the fly wheel caused by letting out the clutch caused a side shear action.. they shear off..
I have a crack in the pick up tube in my fuel tank I get down to 1/4 tank it sucks air and quits.. I have to replace the pick up in the tank, I was told it happens from time to time with the pick up tube
I have a 7.3 with 5:13s and a ATS aurora 2000, ZF5 speed and towing my toy hauler (just the camper loaded 16,000 pounds) I get 11mpg. I love the low gears in the rear for towing.
now to answer the next question someone will ask.. The deck is slotted and hinged to open for the fifth wheel hitch to hook up... look close and you will see the door edge in the picture..
Your right on the money with the combined weight Im getting 11mpg loaded and not pulling any big hills. Unloaded it sounds a little nuts to say but I only use the truck to pull my camper loaded with two cycles, water 200 gal. and 30 gal of gas (has gas station to fill the bikes) and gas for gen..
my normal pulling speed is 65mph... I don't need to go any faster and I admit 70mph with that weight and the gears I have would be winding the motor more than I would like to. And I do have to down shift out of over drive for some hills and Im no speed demon on real steep hills dropping to 4th...
