Thanks for the input fellas. I have been so busy here in California because we haven't had rain in over 2 months, I only have time to respond at night.
Squeaky_Wheel, I do have boost 2-3 lbs, just not enough to get the job done; a function of rpms i imagine. Egts at 1900 rpm with load in...
Thats more along the lines of what i was thinking. The mount is a T-4. If I had some boost to get me back into my powerband I could hold 4th and maybe 5th.
The Poly tank was empty. The total trailer weight was perhaps a touch over 10k. In the 80's and 90's we pulled fully loaded 20 foot gooseneck livestock trailers well over 10k,( less the wind resistance) all the time, no big deal. All due respect, and thanks for the input.
My 6.9 needs more power! I just put this pickup together. I purchased it as a non-turboed 2 wheel drive automatic. I was pulling a 6k pound goose neck with a 12 foot diameter 10 thousand gallon poly tank; essentially a parachute. I was unable to get out of third gear! At 2700 rpm I ran out of...
clutch position switch
Connect the two red/blue wires together. The factory automatics had a jumper here, same goes for the green wires. Blue/red goes to the starter solenoid, green goes to the cruise control.
I was having a conversation today with my brother. Why the Moose pump or why not the Moose pump? Could the stock pump be turned up? What will the Moose pump accomplish? We are in the middle of figuring out what we what to do before the end of the year (taxes) as far as getting our 86 to run...
Icanfixall.... I was wondering when you would chime in. I am glad you did. I thought the 7.3 idi with the factory turbo would have been built more stout on the bottom end. I was under the impression those particular engines had different piston in comparison to n.a. engines.
DragRag what modifications has your bro done to his truck. I would like to have 210-230 horse at the rear wheels. I have not dynoed, but doubt I am even close right now.
The short block I found is in Avenal. I saw the engine engine that you mentioned in the bay area via craigslist. After talking my brother we have concluded that we will probably keep watching the oil and adding as needed. I would like to eventually rebuild it and put cermic coating the...
I have 1986 f350 with the 6.9 banks turbo. It is using a quart every 1,000 miles. I found a 1993 short block ($350) that is a factory 7.3 "turbo diesel" the guy said the heads were bad, was the reason for pulling the engine. I was thinking it might be time to rebuilt the 6.9 back with parts...
Towcat, thanks for posting those pics, and thanks for all the compliments. When we convert to 4x4 I'm going to rebuild the C6 since the tranny needs to be torn down to change the output shaft. Already have a TCI rebuild kit, what torque converter would work best with this combo? TCI recomends a...
At the time of the 4x4 conversion we are going to rebuild the c6 for good measues. Any advice on that, and also I would like to install a heavy duty torque converter with a low stall speed. Any advice on that.
Thanks.
Thanks for the info. regarding the Moose Pump in the future I may want to upgrade the IP. For now I am enjoying the truck the way it is. In about 3 months is when my brothers and I will convert it to a 4x4. As for as pictures it seems a little complicated to send them thru the computer. I...
I am not sure how to get pics. on the computer. But I will try to figure it out. As far as the sweet spot for power I would agree. I would like to drive it with out going 62 MPH. I don't want to beat her up by driving 70-75. On craigs list I have posted a want ; gear vendor for a 1356 T...
The gear ratio is 3.55. At 55-60 MPH it tachs in the neighborhood of 2250 to 2300. I would like to cruise that thing on the Interstate at 75-72 MPH. I will not drive that fast unless I have to due to the higher revs. This truck is like fine wine every year she got better. I am so jacked on...
Bought a 1986 crew cab in mint condition. It was as if the guy kept in a garage since '86. It is a 4x2 with a C6. Are the C6's very reliable in a diesel application. I have plenty of knowledge of Manual Trans. but I am new to the C6. It's got the banks on it. I am going to put a Dana 60...
I have upgraded to the Elite programmer and don't have a use for the Kemm any longer. The power settings are 50, 75 and 150. The programmer has the DPF delete programming. My fuel economy increased by 5 MPG and on long trips more. $750.00 or O.B.O.
