    To late, lol My other truck with the exact same turbo and load has less bottom end than the 4x4 and even has lower gears, Difference? the cam. It makes a good , noticeable difference.

    And I have a torque cam ready to ship. Works really well with a quick spooling turbo and it will pull all the way through the RPM range.

    I noticed you said you're trying tired of trying to save a buck, well that's the exact reason that my injectors are priced a little bit higher but they come with the install kit shipped. I've been a diesel mechanic over 40 years and I am extremely picky, if I can't sell a good product I don't.

    Well I can tell you that my rebuilds with brand-new tips are better than new stanadyne. I never had any problem with new injectors until they quit making them a non-priority item, and stanadynes,I had probably one in 10 had a problem the bodies were cracked, internal threads stripped, pressures...

    I'm guessing it's probably your phone system because I've been checking it and everything works fine on this end. when the wife gets home tonight I'll have her check it with her phone cuz it's older see if it's the same I know they just updated the website operating system they told me.

    With hydraulic clutch actuation there is no way to tell disc thickness, hydraulics keep it as "zero" all the time. When you do this clutch swap if the shift tower boot needs replaced make sure it has a vent cut in it or it will build up case pressure in trans and push oil past the front seal...

    I don't think the aluminum surface of the bearing is magnetic. Or the copper underlayment. I'll get back to you on the layers. Usually fuzz on the drain plug is gear train wear.

    The only way you're going to get bearing metal that's magnetic is if it spins a bearing in the rod or in the block. You could have a cam going flat too. although it's extremely unlikely. To me the black smoke says fuel system that is not working correctly that's just not right.

    then you haven't worked on many of these trucks there's two fusible links right at the 12 way connector on the bricknose at least, one of them runs the entire injection pump system.

    Yeah it's probably got rubber in it now. or he took the line clamps off and all the lines are pinging and causing abnormal combustion

    Get it fixed then tackle the glow plug wires in the 12 way, those are always burnt. Bad design. Please dont hack fix the wiring , or your truck may burn with great gusto. And this is a 15 minute diag and fix for the next time. Im biased, wiring is my thing so its very frustrating to read all...

    Let forget about what works and what doesnt. Go to the starter relay on the fender, first unhook batteries, take the batt cable off the relat, see those ring terminals with wires going to the truck??? Pull on those individual wires, gently but firmly, one or more will stretch like a rubber...

    Leave it in, if it reaches 16-18 months inside the mileage interval I would change it if you live in a moist area.

    Things like radiator tanks are nylon filled and not much sticks. Im guessing the rad was plugged a little and helped cause it, because the new one is the same skinny POS and its running noticeably cooler. Combination of 90+degrees, 80+ mph and altitude finished it off. And I never looked but...
