I do like the 7.3 with all its extra cubes. So what would it take to get the idi in that hp range. Would I be able to make 400-450 with the same amount of work or is that starting to get into the unreliable territory for the idi
Has anyone used this head it's supposed to flow 200cfm. Was there any loss in low end torque or power below 2000 rpm. How big of a drop was there in egts and boost.
Thanks that's also what I was thinking. Will be putting a cummins to a rto6610 in a 93 ford. So the max torque the engine can make is 1400ft lbs as that's the highest rated 14in clutch I could find.
Does weight effect how much torque these clutch can handle. I found one rated at 1400 torque but I imagine that's at 60k lbs. In a 8000 pickup would that clutch be able to handle more torque like between 1800-2000 lbs
It was definatly glow plugs. I didn't replace anything just grounded out the controller for 10-15 seconds and it fired right up. Most of the plugs are out but there seems to be enough to start it easier. So thanks everyone for your help. My starter also thanks you.

Only get the motocraft zd9 plugs right. It's strange that it would need the glow plug even in hotter weather considering the cummins has no glow plugs and less compression and will fire right up in colder weather or is that a idi vs dI thing
Do not think they work. Ohm reading of 5 or higher some no reading at all. Glow plug controller clicks and only seems to draw amperage when it clicks for a split second.
It has an electric fuel pump have no idea what pump it is I bought it with it already installed. When I press in the Schrader valve at the filter fuel comes out so I would guess it's working.

What is it a crazy question? I figured that the 7.3 has a very large displacement advantage witch helps low rpm torque but the cummins is a straight 6 witch naturally makes better torque. I'm not talking about stock engines. The 7.3 would have something like a rd4 150 pump and matching turbo
So witch engine has more capability of making the most torque below 1800rpm the 7.3idi or the 12v cummins. what if the 7.3 had a p7100 would it make the low end more capable.
