A cdr valve does for a diesel what a pcv valve does for a gasser. It removes vapors that cause pressure from the crankcase. It allows the oil to separate from the vapors and drop back to the intake. If one is plugged severly I could see it pushing oil out seals and gaskets but I couldn't see...
I still have this 6.0 here. I have fixed the int no crank signal with a new crank sensor. I have fixed the misfire with new injectors. Now it runs great until it warms up and then between 1800 and 2250 rpm it acts like a wastegate blowing open. Any ideas?
Okay give me the directions to post pictures. I opened a photo bucket account and I still can't get some of my pictures over. Please walk me through it. Bear in mind I am computer illiterate.
I put an additional 4 to 500 lbs of weight in the back. In kansas we have more ice than snow and road crews that would rather wait till it melts, so it gets a little slick here to.
Okay I'm smiling now. I replaced the throttle cable and turned the pump up. I made 7 psi boost and got to 1000 deg f. It ran as good as my old 460 truck. I'm proud of it.:D I will still put an intercooler on it. As for pics I'll try. I'll have to figure out my wifes dig camera and then how...
I have a boost gauge and a pyro. On the 10 mile drive I took it on last night going from a stop up a long hill I hit 4.5 lbs of boost and 900 deg f. I had no load on. My pyro probe is in the left hand exhuast pipe an inch below the manifold flange. I haven't given it any more fuel yet. How...
Well after two days of work I have removed the turbo from the donor truck and made it fit on mine. The donor truck was a 2wd 4spd and mine a 4wd with an auto. The pipes were shot so I made all the pipes except the first foot of the down pipe. Its done and so am I. The test drive revealled a...
I am putting my used hypermax system on my truck this weekend. In later weeks i plan on replacing the lift pump. I know my stock injection pump will not turn up much more. Will putting the holley electric pump on give me more fuel flow capabilities, possibly putting off bying a new injection...
I have a 04 f-550 with the 6.0 I have a code for int low crank sensor voltage. The truck runs like crap, just like the old 7.3 would when the crank sensor went out of them. I would like to replace it but I can't see where its at. I have used my component locator which shows it lower right...
If the transfer case is your major concern get a 2wd dodge trans and get an old divorce mounted t case. Your not building something easy. but that would probably be the cheapest and most simple.
Most parts stores can get them the next day, they usually have a catalogue so you can pick out the one you want. Orielly's around here keep a few in stock.
Just my 2 cents my boss has a 98 12 v that won't keep the tires under it. The stock dodge tranny has never been rebuilt, having over 200,000 speaks well. I don't see many electronics to deal with, and wouldn't see why after building crossmembers it wouldn't fit in the ford.
I put my vacuum pressure gauge on that I use from the shop and ran it just a little and it got up to 7 psi so I think that the turbo is fine and will make on offer on the truck tomoroe.
This truck has the old single inlet hypermax turbo. All the upgrades on this truck were done by the previous owner the current owner doesn't spend any money on it. I will want an intercooler there is a hypermax kit in town cheap but I have to figure a turbo out first.
This guy has been trying to sell this 83 f-350 with a hypermax for a while. I am not interested in the truck. It is a 2wd dually single cab, none of which I like.:puke: But it has a hypermax turbo on it. Its all there, including the cowl snorkel. I have posted before about this though its been...
Congrats man My wife gave me a son when we met that was 4 he is six now, and we had a daughter together that is 13 months old. My family is a true blessing. My best advice is to not go nuts on family vehicles. I was scared to death 2 . The first kid is not a reason to give up your rides one car...
Its not in a tech article but there is a good article on it. Search the idi forums for alternator belt, Right now its the third article on the list. Threw another belt by Jeff Doodson I believe.
Most of the slave cyl have a small hole below that allen head screw. I have a phoenix injector but a turkey baster will work. Take the lid off the master pull the fluid out of the master, open the allen head and shove either the injector of the baster in the hole and push brake fluid in it until...
