    Rsk kit on a 88?

Check out Sky Manufacturing for a pre-crumble zone frame RSK. I'm lookin to sell my 3" kit for the 92+ frames so I can get the other one. The RSK helps with ride quality because having the shackle on the rear of the leaf spring allows it to move in the same direction as the vehicle's travel...

    Picture request

That's me! Those pics are in the thread linked in my signature under the Enterprise specs. If they aren't displayed there any longer (photobucket has been doing strange things), PM me and I can send them directly via an email. Also, be aware that the cup holder on the left side front gets hit...

    Disappearing coolant?

It's been on since I've had the truck and looks to be original. I had the research saved once, before one of my previous updates deleted all my bookmarks. I can't recall what 13 lb caps were recommended. I like the idea of the Mr. Gasket ones with the temp gauge on them, but the 16 lb one I had...

    Disappearing coolant?

I think the nearest person to me is Nick, but he has already given me an engine (big step). I didn't think of making a manifold to pressurize and gauge the drop via a heater hose, but that would require a check valve in there (I've got one somewhere). We're about to get very busy here, so I'm...

    Disappearing coolant?

We finally had a Harbor Freight move into town recently. Unfortunately I can't swing any cash to buy the kit just yet (but I sure will eventually). I can swing the AZ deposit, but only because I'll get it back, lol.

    Disappearing coolant?

Thanks for the info guys. I'll have to wait for income to try these things, unless Autozone rents pressure tester kits.

    Disappearing coolant?

All the hoses were replaced with new a couple of years ago (and are still in good shape) as well as all new clamps with no evidence of external leaks anywhere and definitely no coolant smell.

    Disappearing coolant?

Is there a really cheap way to do that and do it without destroying the t-stat? If I have to pay someone to do it, I'll be dumping in distilled water at $0.80 a gallon until I get a job callback (fingers crossed). Really hoping it's not block worm, but the truck did have universal green coolant...

    Disappearing coolant?

So between the time I pulled the radiator, drained/flushed the entire system, replaced with Fleetcharge and installed my coolant filter and about last September, I had to add a gallon of coolant. Between then and about last month I had to add another gallon, then almost another full gallon this...

    Alternator issue...

For finding a large case 3G alternator, grab one for a '93 E350 with a 4.9L. The larger case fits better if you're still using the V-belt setup and have the 2 bolt alternator setup. Some write-ups have mentioned having to grind a little on the case for the dual v-belt pulley to fit, but every...

THIS is what I get most of the time.

    rings?

That would be "...now I'm a believer...", lol. I'm curious about this as well. There's a good chance in going to have to do a rebuild rather soon and would like to hand gap rings closer to the narrower end of spec.

    Bastardizing a steering shaft?

I'm thinking that I'll just get a Borgeson when I have some income again. Sure, there's more play than Bruiser ever had, but it's not terrible. I'm more concerned about the left pull that developed AFTER alignment. Guy never touched the camber bushings and even though it's within spec, the...

    Bastardizing a steering shaft?

Yup, turns out the only thing the bullnose/bricknose lower steering shafts have in common with the aeronose lower steering shafts is the rag joint. Nothing else is interchangeable.

    Bastardizing a steering shaft?

I've done that, but properly. Very little lash in the over center mesh and no binding.

    Bastardizing a steering shaft?

Here we go, found an FSB write-up that illustrates what I'm missing. http://www.fullsizebronco.com/forum/23-technical-write-ups/465730-steering-shaft-tolerance-bushing-service-procedure-excessive-play-steering.html#/topics/465730 It's either the entire sleeve retainer and spring, or just the...

    Bastardizing a steering shaft?

Yes, it's the lower steering shaft that I need. It looks like those springs/shims have fallen out, allowing the female section of the shaft to move much more before moving the male portion that connects to the box. If the upper section on both the bricknose and aeronose shafts have the same...

    Bastardizing a steering shaft?

Thanks  Non-tilt for now. Does tilt vs non-tilt actually make a difference between the gear box and the firewall? I've never noticed a difference.

    Bastardizing a steering shaft?

That would be phenomenal! Even if you don't, I still appreciate the effort. Need a 92+ multi-function switch or e-brake assembly? I'm trying to think of things you might be interested in that would fit in the same size box so you're not just giving one away.

    I addressed that. No funds.

    Bastardizing a steering shaft?

Got the truck aligned today after installing new balljoints and TRE's (minus the draglink). Other than finding a tire with a recently broken tread belt, we also found where all the play is coming from. Turns out the upper steering shaft (column side) no longer fits snug on the lower steering...

    Cab Swap

That's where that minor difference comes into play. @IDIoit cut and swapped firewalls so he could use a 92+ dash on a brick cab...or was it the other way around?

    Fan clutch upgrade...

Why not just a 3/8" square hole through the end of the adapter? Unless there's enough meat for 1/2". That way, regardless of which part it gets stuck on, you'll always have an "easy" way to get it out/off with just a ratchet/breaker bar and maybe an extension.

    Cab Swap

Go with the cab in better shape. Ford used the same cab regardless. Even some medium duty trucks use the same cab. Actually, any F-Series cab from 1980 to the F250's and 350's of '97 are basically the same. 92+ had some firewall differences for the different dash, but they'll all bolt to the...

    Temp acting weird...

The t-stat opens between 190-195. Where's your temp gauge probe? I pulled a pipe plug in the head on the driver's side of mine for the mechanical coolant probe and typically hit 200*, drop to 190*, then back up, etc.
