    Good OBS replacement headlights

I bought some of the ebay clear lenses. I like the headlights, although the quality of them isn't as good as the OEM. I had to take the adjusters off my original lights and move them to the clear lenses because they came with junk adjusters. The clear corners and turn signals were great...

    intercooler from amazon

2.25 inch piping has proven to work well for me. Remember, most all of our turbos ahave a 2.25 inch fitting on the output.

    Another Mystery Part

That is a plug the oem transmission builder put in the dipstick hole for shipping. When the factory built the truck, they bolted it all together and inserted the proper dipstick tube in on the assembly line. That plug gets pushed down in by the dipstick tube and lays in the transmission doing...

    59 Chevy 7.3L IDI swap

No computer is needed for an idi with a zf. So that's a plus! Wiring is very simple for you. Do yourself a favor and do some reading here first. There is a section at the top of this forum with idi tech articles. There is so much information there that you will find helpful. Don't...

7.3 idi build need more ideas!

Well, just to clear up one thing, you do not have any in tank electric pumps. Only the mechanical pump on the side of the engine. So, your lift pump went out, and you masked it by putting the electric pump in front of it. Not an ideal setup, because if the diaphragm in the lift pump bursts...

    What's your engine look like?

Underneath all that piping is a whole lot of grey painted engine. I have an engine to rebuild, which will be all grey like it came new.

1993 E350 7.3 IDI diesel van transmisssion question.

There is a transmission control module. Some sensors in the transmission, a throttle position sensor on the IP, and a few other misc sensors the feed the transmission control module info.

1993 E350 7.3 IDI diesel van transmisssion question.

Should have! I have seen a couple of these idi vans, and they all had e4od transmissions in the correct year models.

    Glow plugs?

Should be the same. Like has been stated, make sure they are Motorcraft/Beru. I would bet you don't need a controller, but if the price it right...

    flex plate question?

Glad you got in touch with someone who realizes there is a different flexplate for a factory turbo, AND can get you that part. Good luck, and keep us posted on how things are going with your swap.

    flex plate question?

If you search autozone.....it is the same part number for a 93 model vin M as a 1989 NA diesel truck. Probably won't be any different than any other one. Visually, they look very close, just the weight is in a different spot...

    Instrument cluster grounds?

Grounds are located behind the drivers side kick panel. Also, might need to clean the contacts on the rear of the instruments themselves.

    fan clutch problems

If you really ant a motorcraft clutch, search ebay for yb467 and make sure you are looking at a genuine motorcraft part and not a Haydn or four seasons.

    fan clutch problems

I believe this is a lot of your trouble. Your fan is pulling air from around the side instead of through the radiator. Start with a fan shroud and go from there. The Hayden fan clutches have proven to be hit and miss and don't last very long. I searched ebay for a motorcraft clutch and...

    fan clutch problems

Do you have the shroud on the fan? I have decided that if and when I need a fan clutch, I am going to buy a motorcraft replacement from one of the online sources like ebay. I think uhaul still sells some.

    fan clutch problems

Couple questions. What clutch do you have on there now? Original oem or aftermarket? Also, you say when it is warm outside, it starts to get hot. How hot is it getting?

    flex plate question?

Ah. What I was afraid of after reading that thread. Does the guy you bought the engine from have a flexplate maybe? Or know where one is?

    flex plate question?

Here is a LOT of good info about the balancing of the flywheel in relation to the turbo vs NA motors. This guy did the same swap you are doing, and hasn't found a flywheel. http://www.oilburners.net/forums/showthread.php?65728-Engine-swap-flywheel-question/page2

    flex plate question?

So let me see if I have my thinking straight. When I bought my truck, I had a 7.3 that came with the stamped flexplate, hooked to a c6. It bolted up perfectly btw, and did not need the heavy c6 flywheel. I had the flexplate spacer, then the flexplate, then the torque converter. What...
