    Stock is not group 31. Group 31 is a much larger battery. The optima group 31 though is narrower than a normal group 31 due to the offset spiracells therefore fits.

    Do you know if you have an anti slosh module in the instrument cluster. I think they can cause the fuel guage to peg when bad. My fuel guage was pegged for a while from me not pushing a connector fully together at the tank from the sender after I worked on it. Could try to locate that...

    I think the 87-91 rolled over at 99,999 miles, the 92-96 roll over at 399,999 miles, and the 97+ I'm not sure where it tops out.

    I believe this is the metering valve sticking from lack of lubrication. Fuel additive should fix it. You should always run additive as modern diesel fuel lacks the Sulphur that these injection pumps were built to use as lubricant.
