100% WMO?
The holes on a paint strainer are pretty big. On the other hand, a person coulden't even see through a pant leg. When I fill the pant leg up with oil, it takes like a half hour to empty out. I feel that the time it takes to empty is a good indicator of the filtering job its doing.- nightrunner84

Thats a good point about switching, never thought about it. I bet it takes 10 minutes to cycle out the lines. By the time it gets the oil up to the IP, its already warm.- nightrunner84

no, its all stock. I just prefilter with a pant leg before I put it in the truck. I start up and shut down on regular diesel, but as soon as the temp guage starts to move i switch over. Biggest Tires
I have a 87 F250, 2WD, all factory. What are the biggest tires I can put on it. The truck currently has 235/85r16's on it now but I'd like to go with a bigger/taller tire to bring the RPM's down at highway speeds.- nightrunner84

The picture that I posted was of my setup. I just went to goodwill and bought the thickest pair of jeans I could find, then made a halo out of a coat hanger. Whoa, guys. Calm down.... I just meant that I'm taking low mileage oil, thats all. I'm smart enough not to take it from new cars. I like the stuff that comes out of 60k to 150k cars. I've posted a picture of my "pre-filter". Let the fuel filter on the truck take care of the rest.- nightrunner84

Oh yea, because I figure that cars within mileage will have less particulate metal in it. With the abundance of cars that the tire changers do, I can collect more than I can burn. Thats a good point about the pump shafts, never thought about that. I work at a shop and only take like 5W20 oil, never from cars over 3K though. I think with the light vicosity oil I'll be alright. In fact, I just filled my rear tank with it. I'll let you guys know how it works out....- nightrunner84

Ha! Love the pics.... I have regular diesel in the tank up front that I start up and shut down on. I think if I use a red pump I could make it work.... Really like the idea of driving for free, especially with what diesel just hit today.- nightrunner84

How many of you guys are running 100%? I've been running 50/50 and had no problems, but with warm weather upon us, I was thinking about going straight WMO. Are any of you guys having any trouble with 100%?- nightrunner84

WMO build up
I've been burning a 50/50 mix of wmo and I noticed that it smokes a little more than straight diesel(DUH). With the extra smoke I would expect extra carbon build-up in the motor. Has anyone ever had valve seat or eventual compression issues with burning wmo?- nightrunner84

Factory Block Heater Cracking Early Blocks: What Years??!!!???
Yea, I'd like to know too. I have an 87 6.9 but looking at the freezeplugs, the block is recessed around the "hump" the plug is in. Am I ok to use the heater? I just want it to keep the truck warm while I'm at work.- nightrunner84
