ah ok, I was just mainly curious because of the rpm's. While I know these trucks will run forever at redline, I always thought keeping it around 2,000 rpm was whats going to be best for mpg's.
How is that possible lol.
I barely can pull that off going 60-65 in my truck. But im more at like 2000 rpms.
On OP related note, nice truck; nice to see another low mileager left around like mine.
Does that topper have like a center compartment where the window section is or...
Thanks for all the replies guys and giving me some good fruit for thought.
On a side note, anyone know if the dual battery cables are different throughout the years?
Im needing to replace the ones on my 90 and for whatever reason rockauto is only showing ones that work for 92-94? I was...
Were they just on the truck when you bought them?
Most seem to want to stay away from just adding them to the rear srw axle; but im am curious as to how much they can hold and how much abuse they can take.
What are our stock ones grounded to? Just engine block?
So will the only thing I need will be 1 order of positive, and 2 orders of the negative?
Does that cover the postive all the way back to the starter and that too?
I guess ill find out when they email me their prices today. I see why they don't list prices now lol.
If thats the case then I guess the most id be buying from them is maybe front adapters or some nice dually wheels.
Trying to find a drw axle and bed now seems alot better of an...
How much for the entire AC setup if you still have it?
Is it v belt or did you swap to serp?
Is dual battery positive and negative/ground setup still good?
Thanks
Nice thread!
Hopefully this cuts down on the threads of bickering back and forth to take it off together, or not.
Im sure it can just be a little overwhelming and nerve racking if you seperate them and trying to get it back together and working perfect again if its a first time for someone.
You have any idea how much the rear dually adapters can hold from arrowcraft? I know you just have the fronts which im sure are plenty strong for the front, but I guess thats why you went with a true rear from a regular DRW so you didnt have any of those worries for the rear?
Any reason you...
Ahh thanks alot man! I forgot all about that option which isn't a bad way to go at all; especially if you are wanting new parts.
Which kit did you go with? and do you know what the prices are?
I see like kit 100, 250, 400, etc but I dont know if thats just the name or the prices for each...
Yeah ive read that on alot of the forums, and the last thing I want to do is have to do the job over again.
Im assuming that replacing the dual battery setup for postive cables and negative cables/grounds for the engine bay and all the way back to the starter is going to be atleast 200 bucks...
Yeah if I was to specifically choose one, thats what id need for my truck. Just wanting as many options for books on our trucks besides just the run of the mill haynes and chilton that everyone gets. BTW how are those prices on those manuals? I obviously see that the nicer shape they are in; the...
I wish I had access to buy trucks like you do.
Around here in KY, anything even remotely close to these just bring big money all day long. Garbage trucks or over 200,000 miles that many on here wouldn't pay over 1500 bucks for, go for 4-5 grand all day long; its almost disgusting. God forbid...
Looking for some books on our trucks that are in great detail; doesnt matter if they are expensive.
Just seeing what everyone recommend besides the standard haynes and chilton manual that everyone buys or if anyone has the factory ford manual on our trucks id be willing to pay for a copy or...
yeah as I mentioned to you in my v belt thread, im searching around to see if its worth it to just buy them or take the time to buy stuff and make my own.
