    Sucking air/Losing prime

Thanks snicklas, xlnt xplanation, I don't have to tear my almost working LP apart now. I do miss when you could buy a fuel pump kit with diaphragm, 2 valves, and a gasket for couple bucks tho.

Mixing G code injectors in an emergency

On same topic, my 7.3 was N/A, I believe, OEM but has Banks Sidewinder from OP. Don't know which injectors in it, planning on pop testing them, but would like to change out set also. How do you tell which code they are and should I get BB, G, E, or what as a set. Not pressing need since...

    Sucking air/Losing prime

After i was shot down for same observation, decided to wait until I could tear one apart. Could see it working if piston type with ports like 2 stroke engine but diaphragm:confused:??

    Leaky 6.4 Water Pump

Can not find where 6.4 folks hang out, maybe here. Can anyone spare the hub off of or just pump (not in/out casting) from leaky 08-10 6.4 water pump?? Need to test assemble 7.3 IDI adapter. Oreillys says no core charge so no source there. Thanks for any help regarding project.

    Sucking air/Losing prime

If I replace mine will tear it down to see insides. Seems like would only work if a check valve was in line either before or after LP (closer than IP return).

    Fan clutch upgrade...

Ok, had another look at 6.4 WP (by Murray) at Oreillys. Shaft ~ 1" vs IDI ~ 3/4" so bushing maybe common size depending exact dia. Pulley BC ~ 3" on both so maybe no re-drill of pulley (or use 6.4 pulley). Height from flange to thread end ~ 1-1/4" vs ~ 1-5/8" so maybe more radiator...

    Sucking air/Losing prime

Starting on first compression again but CMIIW (correct me if I'm wrong), opening Schrader while running should either leak fuel or stall engine, right? Did neither, how long should I wait? edit acronym (I don't like uncommon acronyms used w/o clarification 1st use)

Project: The New CDD Shop Truck

Wes, I know there is already a check valve in IP return OEM. I meant talk of adding one, or anything else, downstream which would affect return pressure. Measuring return pressure could signal some restriction/change that would cause retarded timing.

    RABS delete?

Two fittings and a hose means you don't have to bend the steel lines to connect them. Advance had 2 fittings (BLF17C + BLF23C) for $8.49 to connect one end of 3/8x24 hose from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071RF53ZJ/?coliid=I1LR3T0KNYY0H2&colid=ONTDRRTPZC10&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it) for...

    91 7.3 V-Belt water pump procedures?

Took clutch off 5 times in last 3 days then took tools back to Oreillys (since only 48hr rental ea time). Got identical set from Autozone since could have for 90 days but could not get them to work. Turns out previous user had either turned wrong way or his nut was Locktite red since worn tool...

Project: The New CDD Shop Truck

Wes said " and with the hydraulic advance curve these pumps have you really just want a steady inlet feed pressure that doesnt change from idle to 4000 rpms at wot. If it changes even a few psi, it will affect your timing curve." Wes, does this mean might need to check return line pressure for...

    91 7.3 V-Belt water pump procedures?

What worked better, for me, an hour ago was put extra tension on belt with breaker and smack wrench with 2' 2x4. No glancing off metal to metal plus 2x4 was handy :D. Now to split shroud, I think, and order a clutch (no obvious means to split and fill). Still undecided on cross pinning the...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Pulled leaky radiator from Teddy without help, other than 2x4 A frame and HF ratchet straps. Need to fix leaking AT hoses at coolers (5/16 hose on 3/8 pipe) from PO!!

How do you remove the fan shroud?

Just finished pulling radiator on Teddy. Left fan, hood and shroud on (clutch tool on order). One man job if rig a frame from 2x4's (pictures if needed).

    Walbro FRB-13-2 6-8 psi 43 gph

Since poppet more off/on action than regulator I might try with fuel oil furnace snubber to smooth out pressure. I assume WAK if using a regulator instead it must be a bypass model (like Holley12-803BP). Other style regulates downstream/return pressure which we don't want.

    Tools and Spare Parts

As to filter wrench, none of mine would swing in space available and filter was over tight (from PO) due to leaking so tried a different type of strap wrench. Oreilly's Pennzoil 19400 takes up same room (in tool box) as and uses 1/2" ratchet and worked great. Added to my IDI toolkit.

    RABS delete?

My bad, did not look at mine since maybe different, hose same as fitting seen on this thread or link to other but it may be for other lines. Mine different also!! Ok, I am shut off. No more posts @ hardware until I complete the job, with pictures.

    RABS delete?

That hose is 3/8-24 inverted female both ends, should take both lines ok w/o bending lines so easy put RABS back when (if ever) selling.

    RABS delete?

Would this work without bending the pipes or wandering thru pick&pull? https://www.amazon.com/Domestic-Flexible-Brake-Line-16/dp/B071RF53ZJ/ref=sr_1_21?keywords=brake+hose+3%2F16%22&qid=1568027257&s=automotive&sr=1-21

Am I reading this wrong or is system open to air twice during bleed? Post 66 " 1. Crack open the bleeder 2. Put vacuum pump attachment into the bleeder. 3. Squeeze pump handle into theres about 2 inches of fluid in the catch can 4. Remove vacuum pump 5. Close bleeder "

    LED Bulbs

Looks like no one has tried a PWM driver for the dash LED's. This one good for 24v so spikes / surges less a probem, especially if some capacitance added on output. Only potential problem might be need to lift ground for LED's you want to dim. Shouldn't be that hard. Link here"...

    Sucking air/Losing prime

I was looking for 1/3 pint in 10 seconds to reduce cranking and it just meets minimum BEFORE filter so pump marginal (ok for now). edit: Solenoid at return T prevents starting if it fails closed, maybe manual stop more reliable? Check valve would only help if opening pressure similar or...
