What is the value of my truck for private party sale?

Unless you really need the space or the money I'd keep it. Look what the 60s trucks are going for, even for ratty ones. These trucks are on the cusp between just an old used trucks and being classics getting 5 figures and up on Hemmings.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Holy crap that looks like clock boy's school project. Hey where you from in Phoenixville? I grew up off 23 on the way out of town towards valley Forge. Ditto. I'm not gonna badmouth the dukes of hazard horn I found laying next to the brake booster with the bare wire jammed in the battery and...

Old truck - New owner. It needs some love.

I'm new to IDI as well, I'm already in love with it. My 6.0 is giving me sideways glances when I walk past :P Good luck with it! I have the Ford manuals for '91 Pickups and Bronco on .PDF if you're interested hit me up.

    '91 F350 7.3IDI N/A CCLB RWD DRW

Thanks Mike, I'll check them out. I priced out what I think I need at Mill Supply, attached a pic of my cart so far. The piece I'm puzzling over is the rear door posts, I don't see that part available anywhere. This is a Crew Cab, apparently most of the front panels are the same as a standard...

    '91 F350 7.3IDI N/A CCLB RWD DRW

Thanks Mike! Bookmarked the site. Right now I'm trying to figure out exactly what I need. Gonna crawl under and get some pics from the bottom, hoping the cab mounts aren't too bad but that seems unlikely.

    My fleet

Those are purdy trucks, Randy. I also have a powerstroke, there's not any comparison between it and the IDI in terms of power or luxury or anything, but I really love the IDI in it's rugged simplicity. It's everything a truck is supposed to be, happy to have both of them

    '91 F350 7.3IDI N/A CCLB RWD DRW

Thanks. My attitude is one of the many things I'm working on improving lol. I've found low expectations and saying f it and diving in go a long way. Body work is something I've never tried until now, but for what I paid for this thing it's cheaper than a semester's books at some pinhead college...

    '91 F350 7.3IDI N/A CCLB RWD DRW

This one got the double-whammy of getting to live in the northeast which is bad enough cause they like to spread salt in what seems a 1:1 ratio to inches of snow around here. I get the feeling it's more about OT for the county workers than keeping me safe, but I digress. It also lived inches...

    Project Big Red

I read this whole thread. Whoever said it's a museum piece, I agree I'd visit a museum that had stuff like your truck in it. This thread is basically the handbook of my dreams, excellent work on the truck your attention to detail is out of this world and that documentation is phenomenal. Thanks...

    '91 F350 7.3IDI N/A CCLB RWD DRW

Finally got a day decent enough to go outside so I did triage on my new '91. I'm glad I read @laserjock build thread before I got a good look at it or I'd be more intimidated than I already am. This thing needs a bit more than the Maaco special the Craigslist ad said it needed, but nothing like...

    '91 F350 7.3IDI N/A CCLB RWD DRW

Thanks Mike! Thanks!~ The guy I bought it from pulled it through the Pocono mts in PA a couple times a year, so I know it's more than capable.

Project: The New CDD Shop Truck

I read this whole thread and I feel like I know a lot more about the IDI than when I started. Thanks a ton for putting this all out there, I love the way you've experimented and reported your findings, I had no idea you could do all this with a IDI. Your fuel system explanations are gold, I can...

    '91 F350 7.3IDI N/A CCLB RWD DRW

Thanks IDIBRONCO! I've been scouring craigslist for months looking for one, the only thing I didn't get was it has a E4OD and not the ZF 5 I was hoping for, but I can rectify that somewhere down the road after it gets the rest of the love it needs.

    '91 F350 7.3IDI N/A CCLB RWD DRW

It's mine! :D Bought the guys whole rig, '06 Forest River Cedar Creek 5th Wheel and 1991 F350 7.3 Dually. The truck will never pull this RV again, that's what my 6-oh is for but it WILL be seeing a complete resto somewhere in the near future. Just took delivery as it was getting dark, still...

Inside the Cylinder of a Diesel Engine – by Harry Ricardo

And it's given me time to contemplate things like this, flame front propagation and vortex sworl. I always just pictured a static cylinder full of air getting squished, fuel sprayed in an it explodes. Never stopped to consider what "explodes" actually means, and why they could only get <1000...

Inside the Cylinder of a Diesel Engine – by Harry Ricardo

Love it :D I'm really impressed by my 6.0, I spent a long time with it down to the nuts and bolts, it's an amazing piece of technology and without breaking a sweat on stock injectors it should should see 450hp . But the IDI is one that fascinates me, if an engine could have a soul (not...

Inside the Cylinder of a Diesel Engine – by Harry Ricardo

It's Einstein level genius IMO to be able to envision how a flame front needs to propagate in an efficient engine cylinder, and then design a combustion chamber that does just that. Before his work they were just guessing what went on in there.

Inside the Cylinder of a Diesel Engine – by Harry Ricardo

Bear with me if I seem like a kid in a toy store, I'm just fascinated with my new 7.3idi :P I had no idea what indirect injection even was a couple weeks ago. I can't stand not knowing about stuff, so reading this and that article referencing the "Ricardo V" combustion chamber used by the idi...

    Tempted by Newer Truck

I love my 6 but I intentionally bought a ratty one with the intention of completely doing the suspension, brakes, driveline and the engine down to the short block, it's the only way to not have it in the shop constantly after 150k+ miles. That was cheap compared to buying a new truck, but it...

My 1985 F350 Lifted CC diesel dually build

    Tempted by Newer Truck

Wow that's purdy I can see your dilemma it's a shame you can't have both. I'm kind of going in the opposite direction as you, I'm in the finishing stages of restoring a '06 F350 6.0, and just bought a '91 7.3 N/A for my next project. The 6.0 is an awesome motor, to me the 05-07 super dutys are...
