    Frame on? Resto?

Yep very few gaskets on these from the factory. RTV.

    Turbo help

DO Not use an impact to remove the compressor wheel! The shaft is tiny and fragile. No tool marks and no stress are the keys to keeping a 50,000 rpm rotating assembly from granading. No tool marks, no hammers. Do make a rotational index mark shaft to compressor wheel so you tighten it back to...

Carter P4070 Electric fuel pump failures.

Thinking of trying Walbro FRB-13-2 for the IDI. Hoping someone has been using and will comment. 18,000 life quoted.....

    Frame on? Resto?

Not to add to your list.... Did you check the inside of the cowl? The sealant was failing and just a hint of rust beginning on the 96. Many many leaves in the drain well.

Throttle loss when engine is warm

I would not install the electric fuel pump now if you have good fuel pressure post filter.Don’t introduce another variable until original problem solved. If you haven’t already put it there move the gauge sensor post filter in the port originally used by the factory low pressure switch. Straight...

    Frame on? Resto?

I hear you about night shift! Done it for years- shop manager garbage truck fleet. Spent the last several months trying to straighten out body and mind.....

    Frame on? Resto?

Our two projects are so close to the same and close to the same progression wise it’s unreal. I’m painting the frame right now, doing cab mounts, my ac box is off, front end off haven’t set the engine back in yet. You are moving faster I believe.

    Walbro FRB-13-2 6-8 psi 43 gph

Have you ever checked fuel pressure under load? Curious to know.

    Saginaw swap

Yes the 4 center water pump bolts go through to the timing gear area. Sealing them keeps oil from seeping out under the bolt head. Check your bolt lengths carefully and remember. these bolts are going into stamped in “nuts” in the plate. Torque is 14 ft lbs.

    Saginaw swap

I’d go with the 6.0 style, lot better foreword availability.

    Gutting CDR valve?

If you run a Mann Provent it has a “CDR” built in, separates the oil and returns it to the crankcase.

    Walbro FRB-13-2 6-8 psi 43 gph

The 70 micron screen is on the pump intake to keep junk out of the pump. Normal filters still required between pump and injection pump.

    Walbro FRB-13-2 6-8 psi 43 gph

I like to use industrial rated stuff on diesel trucks. Wes May be right and the high flow Mr Gasket / Holley pump with a regulator may be the best way, but I want to rule out any other options.....

    Walbro FRB-13-2 6-8 psi 43 gph

Anyone running this pump? It has an internal 70 micron screen, 18,000 hour projected life, 1/4 inch ports. That is 10 gph more than a Facet with all the good features stil included. If the Facet is marginal at 33 gph will 43 do it? Using Walbros hp to gph calculator it is good for almost 300 hp.

What do y’all pull with your truck?

The killer on my cowhaul route is the 7% 1.2 mile long climb straight up the canyon wall. Last trip is what prompted me to start working on the fuel system, dropped all the way to 2nd gear.

What do y’all pull with your truck?

I haul cows mostly. Horses too but mostly cows. My last trip to the other ranch I took 6 pregnant momma cows. About 2,000 lbs each, 6k for truck and 3 k for trailer 21k gross? Most of the road is just a winding hill country 2 lane mostly have to concentrate on being smooth so not to drop any cows.

    Gauges and mounting options

Bottom 3 are pointed pretty much correctly........ But hey the Banks double gauge pod in the 91 doesn’t point very well either.....

    Saginaw swap

No it is an OBS 7.3 Powerstroke. I believe the poster was got4wd. He is somewhat of an innovator. He is on his 3rd or 4th ps pump set up. He has a 6.0 ps pump on a van bracket I believe. Lot of good ps pump swap info.

    Hydroboost compatibility

I have already done my 91. It is used for the ranch nearly daily, so it could not be down. Researched carefully. Done on one day. Now I’m doing the 96 while I have the engine out......few years went by, can’t find a brand new motorcraft so research again.

    Saginaw swap

There is a ton posted on this in the OBS section on Powerstroke Army. Same pump different engine. He went with a 6.0 pump after many trials....

    Hydroboost compatibility

F350? There were no F350’s prior to 99 with hydroboost.... F Superduty 88-97 is what you want if you want to step up to a 1 5/16 master cyl or a F53 motorhome chassis if you want to use the stock MC.
  23. G

    Hydroboost compatibility

Centric brand brake parts have been decent and I see they have reman boosters for $160 to $220. Unlike most of the remains out there they appear to come with the master cylinder pushrod. Use a FSD booster if you want to use the 1 5/16 bore FSD master cyl, or the F53 booster to use the original...

    Hydroboost compatibility

It all depends on your confidence level, fab skills and availability of time vs parts $$$. There is a stickies thread over on Powerstroke Army in the OBS after market section that covers much of it. The basic issues with using a 99 up Super Duty hydroboost vs the 88-97 FSuper Duty or F53 are...

    Gauges and mounting options

There are a lot of better options for OBS 3 and 4 gauge pods tha glowshift. The gs ones tend to point skyward in a useless direction. Check RiffRaff.
