    Vacuum dilemma

I think it is possible the two are not related. I’ve had many cases of old hard trans seals that begin to work once warmed up a bit. Will it go right into drive from park cold? If yes try going from park to drive and hold 1,000 rpm for 5 minutes then try reverse. If it goes into reverse when the...

    Electric fuel pump

Which Facet do you have the cube or the Duralift?

    Electric fuel pump

I do not have a filter between pump and tank. The Facet (s) have a clear water seperator bowl and screen so no need. Keep in mind many of us have found the Facet won’t keep up. Since I had 2 I have them in parralell. They will pull at least 6” of vacuum on the suction side.

    Vinyl tubing and diesel fuel?

Been there myself. Just keep an eye on it which I have no doubt you will.

    F700 7.3 swap

If the 391 / Clark set up is the same as the 70’s trucks I had it will be a cast iron pickup style bell housing, non sae, with the motor mounts on the bellhousing.

    Vinyl tubing and diesel fuel?

I have a chunk of it in my test tools kit with appropriate fittings to splice into fuel systems to check for air bubbles in the fuel. I’ve had it for years but always flush it and blow dry. It is still like new. However over the years I’ve had poor luck with clear vinyl hose and petroleum. It...

    F700 7.3 swap

My first fleet job we had garbage trucks with that engine series. I built a few. They are part of the FE series but have heavier duty things like crank, oil pump drive sodium filled valves etc. The sizes were 330, 361 and 391. If I were doing this I would look at an International T444 (7.3 PSD)...

V-belt A/C compressor bracket installed pics.

Digging the International script valve covers! Reminds me of my 1st car, 59 International Travelall. 266 V8 (with the script) 4 spd. Wish I had it now it would get a 6.9 or a DT360

    9007 Series l.e.d bulbs

The led has to be extremely precise to have the beam pattern come out right. The bulbs that work cost close to $200. One I recall was the Morimoto 2 Stroke 2.0. TheRetrofitSource has many head 2 head tests on YouTube actually installing the bulb and shining it on the wall. There is one other...

    ford 7.8 and allison md3060

I’m trying to recall the last year the 7.8 was used in trucks. I’m thinking early 90’s. The 7.8 had a limited success as a refuse truck engine, but they all had Allisons. I’m thinking the MT 643 / 653 which was durable enough, just lacking OD. What I do not know is if the WT electronic trans use...

    Brown fuel algae?

I f pretty surprised because I have had the tanks off not too long ago and they were spotlessly clean except for all the little black pieces of shower head (fuel suction bell / screen assembly) No rust, dirt or slime was in there. I buy my fuel at one of two places, the cardlock at the bulk...

    Brown fuel algae?

During my recent fuel system thrash I thought I was looking at rust in the Facet clear fuel bowl. After pulling the bowl and screen it turned out to be reddish brown slime that had the screen pretty well coated and a layer in the bottom of the bowl that looked like rust from the outside. In all...

    Anyone know anything about ac?

The fittings and adapters you need are out there. In my town there is a company specializing in heavy equipment and heavy truck A/C that has or can make it. Also a company called tubes and hoses for ac lines and hoses. Custom ac lines are an everyday thing. Also check out vintage air and red...

    Gutting CDR valve?

Yep but I wouldn’t fool with EBay junk it isn’t THAT expensive. Also the separator filters have a special media not a screen.

    Frame on? Resto?

Plus, I will be replacing the bed before I paint it so then there will not be a component left that I haven’t removed to be rebuilt or swapped LOL. Years back I decided it made much more sense to have 4.10 gears in the 91 and 3.54 in the 96 so we swapped rears. No going anywhere that day! Then...

    Twin Pyrometers?

Googling showed up a dozen! Heck if you are going to have twin straight pipes might as well have twin pyros!

    Twin Pyrometers?

There is a decent quality twin pyro in one gauge out there, it is industrial not flashy. As stated not needed but if you gotta have one. I’ll try to recall the name. Not Auber, they are all digital. Gonna be LOUD!

    1995 boost

14 psi was normal for my 96 when it was stock. Had to be really pulling to get that. You likely have exhaust leaks pre turbo or boost leaks post turbo. Lots of little things to check on a stockish new to me rig.....

    Frame on? Resto?

My cab is levitated 6” above the frame just now. Cab mounts and paint frame. Does it now qualify as a frame off?

    Frame on? Resto?

If you haven’t already be sure to put a new rubber weatherstrip on the hood to cowl seal to keep rain off the top of the engine. Has caused more than a few hydrolocked engines.
  25. G

    Frame on? Resto?

Much easier to do the cowl clean and seal while you can stand in the engine compartment. If I hadn’t done mine I would be looking at mystery rain leaks soon. Now I gotta make time to do the 91!
