    Finally got my setup going!

What kind of filter setup are you using? Are you running straight WMO or mixing with gas prior to putting it in your tank?

    2001 Excursion Voltage Drop

So I have a 2001 Excursion and when I turn the key, the voltage will drop (measured at the batteries) to 10.5 for about 45 seconds. After that, they'll come back up to 12.3-12.5 and everything is normal but it was getting harder and harder to start. The last two times I've started it, I've had...

    6.9 timing when running a W85 fuel??

That's really interesting, I didn't picture the combustion as being capable of significantly changing the composition of the engine oil on a newer engine. Do you ever have any problems with pressurizing the crankcase?

    6.9 timing when running a W85 fuel??

Does your engine "make" oil, i.e. do you have that much fuel leaking past the rings? Also, and I apologize if I've asked before and didn't see it, but do you use filters or a centrifuge to clean up your WMO?

    Just purchased F250 6.9

I wouldn't bother with the kerosene or mineral spirits, the truck sat so long that the water separated and went to the bottom of the pan, i.e. 2 quarts of clean water coming out first. If anything, leave the drain plug off so that any remaining residue can evaporate and then after a day or so...

    is this what i need?

I'm pretty much the same except I use totes. Tote #1 is where I collect my oil, add gas, let it settle, and drain from the bottom. Tote #2 is where I pump all but the bottom 10 gallons of Tote #1 (I don't filter from #1 to #2), and centrifuge it.

    is this what i need?

Where'd you find this info? I've been trying to find similar info for a long time and have failed....I'd specifically like to see a lab experiment where they take a dirty fluid, and record how many centrifuge passes it takes to make it clean. Thanks!

    is this what i need?

I'm a big believer in the pressure driven centrifuge, I have a PA Biodiesel 108 GPH model and have processed quite a bit with it. I normally make 10 passes on it just to make sure but there's quite a few folks that are happy with just 3-4 passes. To give you an idea of ease of use, I just...

    who has the best centrifuge?

I messed around for a bit and in the end found that the pump that PA sells is the easiest route to go. Sure there's some other pumps out there that'll work with a few mods, but for out of the box reliability and ease, PA has great prices and a proven pump/motor combo.

    who has the best centrifuge?

I run a 108 GPH from PA and have no complaints, it works great and Joe is always ready to answer any questions that might pop up. I'm not up to the 2500 gallon mark yet but I am getting close.....all with no problems.

    Diesel Kleen for WMO smoke

The increased smoke was because of the o-rings and a suspect injector but I still have to give DK credit for being good enough to mask the issue. After I replaced those components, as well as put new donuts on my downpipes, my smoke has been virtually non-existent with about 20oz of DK every 3rd...

    6.9 timing when running a W85 fuel??

The 4oz of Diesel Kleen (DK), how many gallons of fuel are you adding that too? In my PSD, and after I replaced I suspect injector, I'm not getting any smoke by running an 84/16 WMO/RUG mix with 20 ozs of Diesel Kleen added into my 40 gallon tank. With 20oz's, I can skip 3-4 tanks without...

    Turbo Out???

RiffRaff diesel sells a turbo rebuild kit for $80-ish and a new center cartridge for $400-ish, both of which I've read about being used with a high degree of success as long as you take your time and put it back together correctly.

    Bit another bullet.

Why's that? The pipe isn't supporting any weight, it's free to move with the 'fuge, and I've probably ran it for over 200 hours with no sign of fatigue. I should post a picture but I'd call mine a floating setup in that everything is resting on top of my tote and not bolted down. The only...

    Bit another bullet.

I gotcha, my plumbing on the pressure side is only steel pipe so I'm a "flip the switch and leave for my office for 10 hours" type 'fuger.

    Bit another bullet.

How much fuel are you processing that you'll need to run 3 fuges?

    WMO Registry

I plan on driving that route and that would be an INCREDIBLE pickup, I'd be set for the rest of the trip! As for the truck stops, I've asked a few of them on past travels and they either burn the oil over the winter months to keep the shop warm or I get a worker that doesn't know anything about...

    WMO Registry

I'm headed to Montana for a summer trip and looking at approximately 5500 miles of driving. At the moment, I have ~125 gallons of WMO but need about another 250 gallons to complete the trip. I plan on taking two tanks with me, one to hold the processed oil and the other one to centrifuge with...

    Diesel Kleen for WMO smoke

I checked out the Howes online and it doesn't look like it has a cetane boost, it seems to focus more on lowering the gelling point and making sure the fuel doesn't clog. My increased smoke might've been a symptom of worn injector o-rings, I ordered a set last night and plan to R&R my injectors...

light requirements with a tow dolley

From my experience, you'll be fine with the vehicle lights as marker lights as long as the brake lights are visible like you said. On the other hand, you can get the magnetic towing lights for $10 from Harbor Freight when they're on super sale (usually $19.99) so it might not even be worth...

    Diesel Kleen for WMO smoke

Does Howes have a cetane boost in it? How much does it cost? I don't use DK because of loyalty, only because it's the cheapest cetane booster I've found. If Howes is a better value, I'll gladly test it out.

    Diesel Kleen for WMO smoke

I ended up adding 32 oz's and it wasn't enough, I plan to add another 40 tonight and see if that'll put the smoke back in check. The smoke is getting obnoxious, I think I must have a air/boost leak somewhere that's contributing to it so I'll be doing a turbo R&R and boost replacement in the...

    Diesel Kleen for WMO smoke

I filled my tank up the other day and the smoke is back, I've got just under 40 gallons in there and plan to add 40 oz of DK (gray bottle) to the mix tonight and see if that clears it up. If not, I'll continue adding in 20 oz increments and try to figure out how little I can get away with using.
