Yes i believe that this IDI have some coolant loss but where at is the big Q , Is it by the Oil cooler i will have to get oil ample and look for water , Head gasket or head it self ? This issue has been magnified when it got combined with unburned fuel symptoms which most likely failing...
Comes to think of it .. if I have a failed water/ oil cooler on the oil side I would see oil up in the over flow which I do not
Now if I do have bad O ring on the water side I would see it in the oil which I really don't or noticed any but problem started 2 -4 weeks ago and oil was changed...
Sound fair enough and greatly appreciated .
I am heading out of town Mid week until the 28th ,upon returning I am planing to resume the process . I will PM you for the plates , while I am waiting for them to arrive ,I will pull the GP's as other memeber sugested to see if they are steamed clean...
It's angled just enough but honestly it's not the ideal solution .
When I pull the IP I might go with different valley pan that is designed for turbo drain .
If i have more safe way I would off welded a bung to the oil pan and routed the drain 10AN there like most normal applications . Some...
So was yours cracked block , head or oil cooler .
Do you think my issue could be the cooler , where would I get block off plates unless they are fab for testing purpose only as I don't have the resource to fab such a thing
Yes very distinct smell indeed and burns your eyes , however mine does clear as am driving but comes back at idle or when I rev as you saw in the video .
-But who knows It might be smoking like that as am driving but I can't notice it .
It's hard to get the smell of the coolant thru that...
Well i can tell that the smoke burn your eyes if you come close to it and sure it smells but not like straight diesel out of the pump either,Just very foul smell which is really the confusing part ,
Here is a Video of the Cold Start
I noticed the smoke was not noticeable or exist when the fast idle assist activated and Eng is cold , Once the Eng is warmed up it's a different story .here is a Clip when it's Reved up to 2k
You are da man ... Thank you so much for amazing information . I will get a video of it while am trying to crank it to match it up with you Video . and do few of the tips you mentioned
Here is another angle of the truck running
We have done the Head gasket pressure test before i bought it,it,whichwhich held pressure pretty darn well but that was about 18k miles ago since i bout it . I will have to re test it again . However there was that small voice in the back of my head always whispering ( where the coolant go skipper )
What he mean by power going to the FFS , Now is it suppose to start of power going to the FFS
and what is ablaut guaranty way to identify there is water in the n the combustion chamber.
Yes I use regular diesel
Truck sat for 8 years before i inquired it last year , i replaced all glow plugs , fresh coolant (Red coolant that goes low ever thousands of miles about 6oz or so) , fresh filters , new CDR , Valve cover, I rebuilt the Tranny .
Never done a leak down test yet or replaced the IP or inejectors...
It has been on my radar to get a New Conestoga IP and new Injectors but funds are limited at the moment , Truck has 145k at the moment .
while back i routed the Banks turbo drain line to the driver side Valve cove to eliminate an oil leak from the valley pan , However i am not 2 happy with it...
Truck start , Run like a clock work from dead cold or extremely hot day weather you drive it 10 mile or 1000 mile . I have done about 10,000 happy miles since i bought it including heavy towing, heavy loads of dirt loaded with Zero issues ..
Bluish smoke is very noticeable at Traffic light...
Truck buffing really nice bluish smoke at idle and randomly in a way , smells like it's burning 2 rich, the buff can burn your eyes to be honest if the window down , This syndrome happen at stop light or in the drive way specially when it gets up to normal op temp but non when i am running ,If i...
I was waiting for you to lay down the hard truth about the 7.3 IDI ... I suspected that but wasn't convinced ( Specially not knowing the history of the IP beside it's OEM )
Yah last time i was visiting Family during x-mas i stopped at conestoga Diesel to say Hi ... What you just mentioned is exactly my shopping list but i need some green , Some benjies to make it happen
