My dad and i just finished building a 7.3 and got it fired the other night and it seems to not have any oil pressure, it is pushing oil through the turbo oil feed line, and it is pushing a very very tiny amount of oil through the outlet on top of the block on the back for oil gauge, but the oil...
my plan is to use the zf5 and transfer case i already have, if i use the cluster from a 92-94 truck is that plug and play? or is there some wiring needed to get working?
im sure this is on here somewhere but for life of me i cant find it, but when swapping a 460 out for an idi what does one have to do to get the tach to work? i assume the tach for the 460 can't be used with the idi? do i just need to swap in the whole gauge pod from a diesel truck?
im looking...
for both of those nuts i find what works best for me is a 3/8 ratchet with a pivoting head, still a pain in the ass to get in there but slightly easier than an end wrench or normal ratchet, and usually for the rear nut i go in from the valve cover between or underneath injection lines
went to the link in that thread, got a dead page, tried to search around the site for the kit, couldn't find it, but will search it more later, the site doesn't seem to like my phone
i think ill take a little drive tomorrow afternoon after work to a salvage yard near me and see if they might have an obs front clip for a reasonable price
i know that they wont work with the obs headlights, i was still on the thinking of trying to modify it to fit brick headlights because im having a hard time finding an obs truck for cheap enough that i can justify tearing it down
so it would bolt in to the fenders and be in place just fine, but the headlights and stuff wont work, ok maybe i will look at my dads truck so i can see how the headlights bolt in(his is OBS) i am curious if i could modify that to accept the brick headlights.
my truck already has the tall...
are they 100% incompatible, or can they be made to work?
also i just actually just learned that about the pedals today, trying to find brake and clutch pedals for a buddy's 93
or i could try to find an obs truck to steal the nose from, i like that nose better anyway then i could use that, I'm sure whatever truck i steal the nose from the core support would be toast anyway
i just might, except for one problem, my upcoming project is an 89, so I'm not sure i can use that support, but if it would work with just a bit of coercing id be happy to do that, I'm not opposed to customizing a part to make it fit as long as its not super crazy
oh, my bad, apparently i missed that thread, i tried to search and see if there was anything like that before i posted this, guess i didn't search well enough
a radiator core support for diesels!
http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fd/full.aspx?Page=2
it says new so i wasn't sure if anybody had seen it yet or of anybody has tried one yet, i wonder if it's any good? I need a core support for my upcoming project...
does anyone know offhand what size boots i need for the putting an intercooler on an 093? I'm guessing the outlet on the turbo is 2" based on a rough measurement i took earlier, is that right? What about the inlet side of the turbo?
i used the silver on everything, manifold bolts, y pipe bolts, slip fitting on the up pipe and where the up pipe bolts to the turbo, i didn't use it for where the turbo bolts to the pedestal and i haven't had a problem with anything seizing up
i thought it was 92 that they made the switch, i got my king pin 60 out of a 91 and my dads truck is a 92 and has ball joints, his truck also has the rubber wedge brakes
