Strange starting issue.
Replac d tach sensor today, sure is nice to see the tach steady and not bouncing all over the dial. Also got new Ford thermostat and will replace that in a bit. Strange starting issue.
Air is purged and it back to itself. I haven't done the ignition switch yet. Here is what I found, when the switch is set to the front tank, it reads the level in the front tank, but is pulling fuel from the rear tank, when set to the rear tank, it reads the fuel level of the rear tank but...- SirRea63l

Strange starting issue.
Thanks Icanfixall, I bought a new lock cylinder yesterday and will replace that. IIRC it is as simple as turn key to ON position and use paperclip to push up on the recessed pin under cylinder and pull the switch out? I have some new fun, ran it out of fuel yesterday. I just looked at ordering a replacement key set, there is a dizzying array of them. I haven't found a good resource for ordering parts. I spent a few years rebuilding a BMW 740i and there is website called realoem, if you put in your VIN, it showed the correct part for virtually every part on...- SirRea63l

Strange starting issue.
Cranks very fast, brand new batteries and they are fully charged. It just dies, like the key was cut off. There is only one wire that has anything to do with starting, right? It is on the injection pump, is that correct? I do notice the ignition switch is kind of sloppy and the key goes...- SirRea63l

Strange starting issue.
The one time it did it the truck hadn't even reached operating temp, had only been running a few minutes. Injection pump has less than 10k miles on it. What is strange is the truck starts very easily, just a couple of revolutions and it fires right up. I can see it being fuel related though...- SirRea63l

Strange starting issue.
I am not really sure how to explain this, but I will try. Truck stalls and will not restart with key, it will spin over perfectly but not start, however if you push it and let out on the clutch, it will fire right up. Thanks Al, that is certainly the best solution, but will have to be way down the road. I did a little research on it this morning, it seems the fix is to put it back together correctly. lol- SirRea63l

Yes, a new down pipe is on the list, I have seen the Banks is still available from Summit, I think, as is the R&D setup. I will lean towards the Banks, much cheaper and since I am just wanting a little more boost than stock, it should be fine. My goal is about 7-9 psi for max boost. It is an...- SirRea63l

How large is the stock exhaust? Is it the same diameter all the way through? My tailpipe is large but I haven't crawled up to look at the rest of the exhaust, but I am pretty sure it is the stock one.- SirRea63l

No doubt, at least the 94 is in decent shape so that is a bonus. I looked for months for this exact truck, all over the state and was happy I found it 45 minutes from home. I think the wife is afraid of it, her 2013 Tahoe is so much shorter and easier to drive. I will feel the truck is good...- SirRea63l

Yep, there is a whole pile of things I want to do, after the turbo and exhaust repair/replacement. I need to add gauges (I hate idiot gauges), replace thermostat (idiot gauge shows it running on the high side, new Motorcraft will be ordered in a few days.) maybe replace the radiator, find some...- SirRea63l

I don't think it is the exhaust side as much as the intake side, but I suspect both need attention, I can smell exhaust inside the cab when sitting in a parking lot. We have a very good old school diesel place near us called Hamilton Diesel that I am going to let go over the truck very well...- SirRea63l

I have been lurking here for a while and figured it was time to say Hello. We have two IDI's, both F350 4x4's, the first is a 1991 E4OD that is basically our water truck.
