    Vacuum Pump

I used the same (way too expensive) puller & installer that I've used successfully for years. Thank you though.

    Vacuum Pump

I know the men a local NAPA pretty well (right?) so I probably won't give them too much trouble. They WILL, however, have to make this right. The pump went T/U about 300 miles from home and I'm not back yet. PSA:. Make sure that your "brakes" light is in good order. I nearly ruined the driver...

    Vacuum Pump

No sir, I didn't. I'll certainly look for a plug/place to check oil on the next one. What weight oil is recommended...googlefu ain't helping me here. I used a puller...Sam one I've been using for years.. What's odd is that the bearing(s) seem alright. I guess I'll open it up...see what...

    Acorn lug nuts for dually

I had a hard time finding these so I thought it might be valuable information for some. Simulators are not my favorite option. I'd like to find chrome steel wheels ... no luck yet. https://www.ezaccessory.com/Duplex_XL_Acorn_Lug_Nuts_p/3110s.htm

    Cruise Control Cable Questions

It looks like it can. It has a "rotational" sort of clip on the servo end. I was hoping someone here had a hack.

Thank you. Since my email to Ms. Suzi bounced back and I haven't heard from Mel yet (12 days) the whole thing became suspect. Kizer

    Cruise Control Cable Questions

It appears as though the cable isn't available from anyone, anywhere. Has anyone modified a universal cable to work? If so, what did you use. Thank you, Kizer

So what did you do with your truck today?

Working through PO's whiskey dents: Before: After: Fresh fenders go on next ... then bumper etc.

    Cruise Control Cable Questions

I hear you sir. I use it to re-arrange the boxers or get a better purchase on the throttle pedal (work boots). Occasionally, I'll use it when I'm on the road alone, but overall I agree with you. Mostly, it's about maintaining the truck. I like everything to work as scheduled.

    Cruise Control Cable Questions

So there's supposed to be a cable in there? Maybe it's sheathing ... looks like vacuum line (on both ends).

    Cruise Control Cable Questions

I found this in the valley pan! It isn't a cable (surprise), its a vacuum line. I can hear a ball / valve rolling around in there. Is there a grommet / gasket that is supposed to be here? :

    Cruise Control Cable Questions

Thank you. I thought that they may be routed differently (different lengths).?? I'm still not clear on what the cable is supposed to look like on the IP end. I don't understand where / how it should terminate at (or with?) the throttle cable. Kizer

    Cruise Control Cable Questions

The cruise control cable went t/u on the IDIT (IP end disappeared). I seem to be getting conflicting info. on the correct part #. Some say w/ turbo, some n/a only and some sites have the same part number for the throttle cable & cruise cable?? All of them are discontinued but I'd like the part...

That made me laugh. Thank you! I'll take "the under" on you finding flattering songs about Odessa, Alpine or Del Rio. There's probably a parlay in there that I'd bet on too.

Fan clutch is good ... asked mechanic to give it a nice bath w/ brake cleaner while he's in there. Thermostat: On the work order. I had the part on-board. Hoses look good ... replacement is on the work order anyway. Thank you for reminding me to check for the spring.

New episode, Half a truck or I broke my toy. '94 idiT Crewcab Dually.

I'll bite. First, let me say, you've got an awesome project working. My bet is that it's going to be worth the pain. Now, I've been sitting in Odessa, TX for 8 days. My IDIT grew a hole in the radiator somewhere between Abilene and here. First thought: "It could have been worse." I was on...

    Anti lock recall???

I'll say it again. The Ford site is CRAP, regarding TSBs on our trucks. 3!...3 "Field action items" are listed, in the TSBs, for the '94 IDIT. We KNOW that ain't right!

Yes sir, I believe that you are correct. Man, you've had a rough run. If you are able, do it your self. No one on the planet cares (as much as you do) about that piece of equipment. Stay the course. The odds are that you will be glad that you did.; just my $0.02 (USD) ... Which isn't what...

Ye olde ATF in the Fuel Filter

FYI: I got bad fuel in Alpine, TX .. swapped the filter, had nothing but 10w40 to prime the filter/system ... worked very nicely. The beast fired (and sounded) great. Fresh fuel cycled and "we" were on the road.
