    Trying to bleed the clutch

I left the clutch slave dangling when I pulled the old engine out. Probably aren't supposed to do that but I never found info to the contrary either. Got it on new engine, the plastic has some play in it so it doesnt line straight up with the clutch fork but I got it on. Last night I sat...

can i remove the Vaccum storage tank (coffee can) and bypass it?

Mine isn't hooked up. It has nothing to do with A/C as far as I recall its an "oh crap" device to give you some braking power when the vacuum pump fails before it loses vacuum. But I could be wrong.

    Follow Me!

Neat story, seeing as how ur hard for cash i thought id mention that these engines can run off damn near anything - waste veg. Oil, waste motor oil, other oils, some thin it out with gas. Theres some precautions to take beforehand but now you can research it.

    Engine Swap Questions

Oh and eventually i want to incorporate a custom water/meth injection system. Then intercooler. Sometime i may need electric fans but after ceramic coating all exhaust-pipes the heat was less than the old engine with locked up fan.

    Cracked injection cup???

Most have run cracked cups safely, cant recall any horror stories of it. Extreme heat and pressure causes it. Injectors spray relatively cold diesel agaist them, they are meant to be hot, compression can be upwards of mid 400-500psi going thru that hole. And then combustion coming back out...

I could probably come up and help you swap it. I dont have a timing meter though so we would either have to purchase or rent it.

    Engine Swap Questions

Took her out the maiden voyage after putting the radiator and belts and everything else on. WOW. So glad I swapped engines - this one didnt vibrate and miss and fight to start. Beautiful. Didn't see any antifreeze or oil leaks, forgot that the 7.3 used 1/4" return lines so I had a leak at...

    Quick question

Before trying this, pull allte glowplugs out to relieve the pressure. That sounds about right, but i can verify when i get home.

    turbo/firewall clearance issue

Found this: http://www.oilburners.net/forums/showthread.php?37538-clutch-wont-bleed!! Gonna try out those methods, we'll see how it works out. The hand pumping up and down fully gave me some return but not enough and it went away. Thanks again, with some luck it might be running today!

    Windshield reseal?

Mine leaked decently, i just took the trim off, washed the dirt out as good as i could and gave it some waterproof sealant. Worked for me. You can see where it has separated if it has done it bad enough. Still havent tried putting the trim back though...

    A Big Thank You

Sounds like your well your way! Adding a turbo helps a ton and most have no issues unless maybe going for more performance.

    turbo/firewall clearance issue

The rod that sits against the clutch fork? I had to press it multiple times to get it on there again. Im assuming i just force it back n forth? Ive had the oil line sitting in a bottle n cranked maybe 5x for 10 seconds roughly. I dont wanna fry the turbo bearing so im just being careful..

a drop-in lighting option for bullnose (80-86) trucks.

High output LEDs put out some heat, just not radiant like normal bulbs. Looking at the reflection it seems there is only one or two LEDs quick example: http://www.cree.com/LED-Components-and-Modules/Landing-pages/CXA

    turbo/firewall clearance issue

wow. much better without turbo. Jacked the trans up, left bell housing on engine as per an engine manual i found. Almost got it in alone, just cant get input shaft in alone or I'd be done installing engine. Will have to wait for friend to come help.

    turbo/firewall clearance issue

turbo is off, modified the heat shield - it completely blocks the top passenger-side bolt. So i dremeled and used a high speed metal cutting air-tool to nip off enough to have clearance. While I was at it I removed the lift point on the intake here because it got in the way some too though not...

    turbo/firewall clearance issue

Rad support is out, left fenders on. I think i will try turbo out first and wrestling with putting it back on first. If that fails ill take fenders off n unbolt cab enough to get clearance. Pictures are in my other (dead) thread :)

    turbo/firewall clearance issue

Any way to tell, other than see if it gets messy? Lol Alright ill pull it. Gonnahave to think about an easier way to get to the turbos mountnuts. Maybe it won be so bad since the threads are cleaner.
