Upper radiator just blew off. BANG.-cuss-cuss-cuss:shoot::fan:-Flame Thr;Pissed
Felt a little heat in the heater core line from the head, none in the other line. Radiator was pretty cold and engine was warm. Pretty sure the thermostat is the culprit, right?
Cardone 20-6244 is a bolt-in saginaw but it looks like they stopped making them a few years ago.

Typed that reply on my phone lol, i will get pictures up this afternoon!
Serpentine doesnt look much more difficult. The only thing i would be worried about is pulley shaft length, the 6244 bolt in model looks longer. Id be willing to try if anyone had a spare
The square nut was 5/8" and...
Got it on, works BEAUTIFULLY!
Gotta make the tension bolt slot on the other bracket a little longer, this pulley is larger than the c-2 was so its tighter!
The high pressure line from the c-2 was too large to fit into the e-250 saginaw pump. So i took the nut off both pumps and compared. I...
Any red with green-strip wire is ignition power.
I recall seeing three, one for the ip, one for the glow plug controller, and i dont recall it but franklin2 said one goes to the low vacuum sensor.
An easy way to do it is either a splice connection or cut the ring terminal off the glow...
Pulling the pulley and putting it back on:
Use a gear puller to get the old pulley off. I had to put a bolt on the shaft because I couldn't get it to reach otherwise. No harm no foul, it popped right off after a bit. To speed it up I threw it on a vice, used a socket wrench on the puller and...
Another popular thread :rotflmao
Here you can see the hole I drilled and I also grounded upwards just a bit to make room for the bolt to sit more evenly. I also ground away at the top.
Here it is on the saginaw, 2 bolts out of 4. Most installs I see are using 3 though.
This bracket...
I'm embarking on a quest to add a saginaw pump to my truck after the stock pump puked its guts all over my driveway... Maybe we can make this a tech article if not. I'm sure I will have some questions too :dunno
The Saginaw 6244 pump that is adapted to C-2 mounting is not available anymore -...
Got a newly refubihed saginaw, gotta either fab it onto my old bracket or find a junkyard van.
How reuseable is the thermostat, m old engine would cook me out of the cab on high.
I have a loop around town where i can get going pretty good, im running without a fan, old one was locked up. All of the exhaust is coated so underhood temperatures are much lower.
The loop on the old engine was enough to get things nice and hot, i was feeling zero heat. When i put the barb...
So I noticed there is no heat coming out of the heater core. The engine had plugs on the head/water pump so I removed them and put the barbs on for the heater - I'm wondering if something else is disabled or maybe a bad/wrong tstat could cause all the heat to circulate through radiator only...
There are much smarter and safer ways to add more power. Methanol injection is similar to what you are describing but uses much cheaper blue window washer fluid. Cools the intake too helpful for those with turbos.
Propane is another intake injectable.
You could just pour oil down the...
so I used a weight to hold the clutch in overnight, that gave me a good amount of pedal back and fast pumping brought it back up slowly on its own. So i pumped more and let it sit pushed in another night.
Today it was good enough to drive, still didn't come up all the way quickly and...
Under normal circumstances our rpm and power output are limited by fuel and air. When we dont have enough air we smoke black thus the nickname rolling coal.
His truck was smoking hazy blue meaning he was burning oil from poor compression or some other issue. He was not overfueling the engine...
Video of engine running and turbo with its whistle :sly
I haven't welded the downpipe to the exhaust yet. So its pretty free-flowing with just 4" intake and downpipe on the other end. I'm sure the ceramic coating helps spool time and boost too :D
Click to go to photobucket to watch it
this works but isnt worth doing. Get one of those keychain turbos if you want whistle so bad, hook it up to the boost side port.
After doing a custom intake on my banks turbo - 4" filter and pipe up to the turbo inlet. Ceramicoating the whole exhaust from manifolds to downpipe, including...
So to pull fluid up, do i just drill and install a barb and use the truck's vacuum pump?
I have an ac vac pump for ac work but id have to adapt it..
My slave has a drain on it, local cost for a new one is 22$ so might just get a new one to save time/hassle/mess. Already bought the master...
Thanks guys. Tomorrow ill try some of these easier tasks.
Failing that i will buy a new slave and install my new master and try filling bottom up. For the slave nipple, do i just put hose on it or a fitting?
Thanks, never done this job. I know dot-3 is hydroscopic but i didnt know how the master handled this - i thought that 4-leaf clover baffle was part of it.. Learned that when i saw the new one. Oops
So i took out the thing and gave it some more fluid, got back to 1/3rd of a pedal. Enough to...
Could the master be shot?
didnt see any leaks anywhere. after doing the dot-3 drain crap i wouldnt be able to tell anyway now. Master could be leaking though- i keep getting a puddle on driver side floor but I thought it was rain
I'm using the same intake hat and non-gated banks, but IM not intercooled.
The thickness is pretty high on the hat, you could grind a little off the surface for more room. I did on mine just so I could rotate more
