@79jasper I seen that iv already got the helicoils does anyone us some rtv on the gasket when they do theirs iv never had one with stripped bolts and iv done 30 + 7.3 hpops but I can see how they are a common issue also iv never used rtv but herd it's a good addition from a navstar tech
So I just had buddy bring his truck by with the hpop leaking oil come to find out he stripped the bolts out on the timing cover I have some helicoils but don't know if thease are blind hole or open in the back how have any o you fixed this problem
All napa reman starters have a lifetime warranty I just got one last year I payed about 160 for it and it still cranks good also I don't warranty too many not as many as it sounds like also we test all before they go out and I have turned maby 2 out of 300 starters
X2 Rust-Oleum the shit out of it when I get to it I'll post some pics of a truck I'm balls deep into right now it came from Minnesota God I hate Minnesota for it he hell they wage on trucks
It's hard to say but both a ficm and hpop will do this also a failing lift pump I'd say hpop where he uses ether to get it started because the extra rpm could bring up the pressure enough to start and it probibly cooled a little in-between starts keep us posted
The set up on the injectors looks like a napa set ic had pretty good luck withe them but I always use a lube when putting them back in and set fully before torqueing them down iv seen people hit the max torque before the injector is fully set and that can cause issues
Dude cold and Texas don't come close to making a sentence but if change the block heater they work better when I is actually cold like -20*f at that temp nothing really fires right up
I just studded a 5.9 Cummins and chased all the threads an then sprayed out with brake kleen then blew out with air it took 10 min in m opinion 10 min of prep is worth 3 hrs of dicking around with dirty threads especially when I'm getting paid by the job
There are plenty of ways to skin a cat iv marked timing with a punch on the housing and pump seam and remover the pump and all the lines as a unit usually takes 25 min or long way 1 line at a time with open end also a crowd foot works good I got a set of ¼ inch drive crow foot that are worth...
Well this winter I get to do gp whent to start the dirty pearl and she didn't want to fire and 8t was only like 18*f out and they are only 2 years old I hope none are swollen if so the motor is coming out :frustrate;Pissed:puke:andgetting upgraded
@chillman88 I still feel as if I need a tetanus shot after looking at that and most of the rigs I see are ranch rigs it might not be Rusty but it's been so Jimmy rigged you get lost in the bubble gum and bailing wire
