How slow on a 10mi long 6% grade?

I don't know but I'm curious to see what everyone says. I would think watch the gauges and how the rig feels. I usually don't make it much past 4000ft in the truck and my rig is lighter(I assume), manual, and NA so probably can't add much. I really need to get my egt gauge in before too much longer.

    Water separator cleanout and test

Well got all the parts today. Went with a Racor 445R setup with the 30 micron cartridge for prefiltering. It bolts right into the stock holes and is accessible even with the cruise control actuator. It doesn't fit in the cage around the old pump so that got left out. It does add a priming pump...

    Water separator cleanout and test

Do you know which one that is? Do you just swap it when you do the other filter? Flow rate looks like 30 gph for the lift pump, not sure if I can stick with that or if I need to look for the next size up. Looks like I have a few different options from racor and baldwin at least.

    Water separator cleanout and test

After draining the water separator and then playing the "bleed the fuel system every time you start" game on our last camping trip its time to pull out the water separater from the truck. No shortage of muck inside it. I want to try and keep the stock one if I can get it to work. I figured...

    Door latch fix

I just had that with a pair of replacement dorman strikers I got. The plastic bushings where a little bigger and would jam in the latch. I bought this surely overpriced but actually perfect sized pair off ebay.

    Truck Registration

I believe WA dropped all testing recently. It was more or less just puget sound area, Clark county, spokane, and maybe tri cities as far as I know. Never had to test anything in Cowlitz when I lived there. Now in Portland I have to test everything but the diesel pickup. Registration is a little...

Will Oregon ban petroleum diesel fuel (HB3305)

Here's an article talking anout how newer diesel engine technologies hand it. https://blog.red-d-arc.com/generators/complications-burning-bio-diesel-modern-diesel-engines/

    Tapping in to fuel line?

Not to go too far off topic, but I'm not sure you'd do much better with a gas hightop van. Buddies got an '87 Okanogan class B with a 351w and a C6 and 8-9 mpg is all he really gets. Granted its a pretty big hightop. He was down a tank for a while and his range between gas stations was a bit...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Drove the truck to work yesterday since the DD Toyota is sitting on jackstanda waiting for parts. Bought the truck some diesel and oil as a treat on the way home for saving the day when the Toyota broke down. Starting to plan out what maintenance needs done before a long trip down into...

    Auxiliary Fuse Box

Here you go. You may notice a lack of fuses in it since I haven't actually wired anything into it yet. The backup camera is the only other in cab project I got to this year and it is power by the tail lights.

Is the bed supposed to look like it's flexing a lot going down rough road?

I more or less assume Ford was a little confused on the concept of suspension articulation and just built more of it into the frame than the suspension.

    Auxiliary Fuse Box

I added one on the passenger side on passenger left up under the black plastic panel. The was a perfect little spot to put one and the insulation seemed to have a perfect size precutout built in. Itdoes push the plastic shield out a little in front of the floor vent. That said I put that in for...

    What else do you drive?

Does that corolla have the same valve stem issues as the Rav4s(and other cars) did with the 1az-fe? My Rav4 was using something like half a quart a tank before I changed out the valve stems seals and now it uses less that that per oil fill. The stem seals were worn to the point I probably could...

    What else do you drive?

Daily drivers are both Toyotas, a '95 Corolla with about 290k on the odometer and '01 Rav4 with about 190k on the odometer. IDI only has 110k but it's the only rig without any electrical problems right now. The Rav4 is a decent little car but I have to work on it more than I get to work on the idi.

    Ac update?

Yeah based on all the varied recommendations I picked the one in the middle. I believe my truck had a blue originally so I went slightly smaller but not as much as an orange.

    Ac update?

I ended up using a red orifice tube in mine and have good performance thus far. Recomendations were all over for blue, red, or orange.

So what did you do with your truck today?

@dgr Not much but we planned and booked well ahead of time. We didn't get the best spots on the coast, but they were decent enough. @Ky85 Yep passed through, stayed in Legget the night before we got into Humboldt County. The pic of the truck with the trees was along Avenue of the Giants at a...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Wasn't today but last since the last post SWMBO and I put 1428 miles on the truck driving down to the land of expensive diesel with stops on the Russian River and back up the coast to see the redwoods. Truck ran great but did seem to have a little less power on the hills after I got down south...

    Ac update?

I converted my long dead system last year. I did have to recharge it this year though so I may regret having not replaced the hoses. I kept most of the system in place and near as I could tell the leak that originally killed the system was in the drier.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Made the 630 mi drive. Diesel sure got expensive when I got into California.

    Won’t shut off

I believe the CDR is wide open under normal operating conditions. It only closes if a significant pressure differential is seen by the diaphragm inside which would basically just be intake vacuum. It won't stop fuel mist in the crankcase from feeding the engine under normal circumstances.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Yeah we have places booked going from Oregon into California and back. Planning to have everything loaded up in the camper for the whole trip so should only visit places for fuel. A little worried that rules will be changing as we go in both states though the way cases have been going.
