That much trash stuck to your orifice tube is usually a sign the compressor is failing. While it may still work fine for the time being, don't be surprised if it gives up soon.

    Banks downpipe

I'm looking at the Banks 21042 kit which does not include the downpipe or exhaust. The only downpipe I see listed from Banks is the 52103 which is meant to replace the factory IDI downpipe. Does anyone know if this will fit the Banks turbo or do you have to get the correct pipe directly from them?

    Good 6 in suspension lift.

Rough Country is probably the cheapest and harshest ride out there. I have a Skyjacker 4" in my 84 and it rides pretty stiff. Any suspension lift is going to ride stiffer than stock. Everyone says the reverse shackle kits ride much nicer.

    breather hose T case

Its just a breather hose. It usually clips to the transfer case shifter bracket and is open on the other end.

Replacing ball joints on Dana 50 ttb

There is no clip under the boot. Remove the outer (smaller) clamp on the outside of the boot and the shaft will pull right out. Make sure to lubricate the splines when you put it back together.

Yup, that looks like a 6.2/6.5 GM pump.

Replacing ball joints on Dana 50 ttb

I always try to remove the camber sleeve from the upper one first if possible, then a few whacks with a sledge hammer against the knuckle will usually pop them right out. I haven't used a fork in years. If the sleeve doesn't want to come out first, make sure you remove and clean the rust off of...

No thermostat new water pump and she's getting warm

Our rules didn't allow moving or relocating the radiator so all I could do was run a remote transmission cooler, remove the fan, and wrap the hoses with duct tape to reinforce them. I usually ran massive land barges with big block engines so they would heat up quickly.

No thermostat new water pump and she's getting warm

Yep. Years ago when I was younger I removed the thermostat from a demo derby car thinking it would run cooler but it had the exact opposite effect, it actually ran hotter. The coolant flowed through too fast and wasn't able to transfer enough heat through the radiator, plus it became aerated...

ZF5 crossmember question. I’ve looked everywhere..

My 92 F250 is an original ZF truck and I swapped in a Dana 60 last year. I added extra springs in front so it sits higher than a standard F350 and I don't have any issues with clearance on the original crossmember. I have another F250 with a ZF and Dana 60 swap and a 4" suspension lift. That one...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I replaced the fan clutch last week and hauled a load with it today. It took care of my overheating problem while running loaded, but now with the fan staying engaged like its supposed to its robbing more power and turned it into even more of a gutless turd than before. I'm tempted to put the...

    Bullnose era, pillar pod options

I have a NIB Autometer dual pod for 92+ trucks. I held it up against the pillar of my 84 and it looks like it would fit if you trimmed some off the bottom end. I also have a set of Autometer Phantom pyro and boost gauges. If you're interested maybe I could make a package deal. I had planned on...

7.3 IDI w/ banks turbo overheating

I've been looking at replacing mine too because it always heats up when pulling a load. My truck was built in April 1992 and some websites show only one while others show two different clutches used for that year: before or after 2/14/92. Anyone know what the difference is? They are both...

Things that go bump // Back up camera recommendation ??

Here's my setup. Its made by RVS, who supplies backup cams to the major RV manufacturers. www.rearviewsafety.com/‎ ‎ Its a pricey system but the cameras are much higher quality and infrared so they will work in complete darkness. They also have built in microphones. I originally had this...

    Brake woes

Last fall I replaced my worn shoes with Napa shoes and wheel cylinders. I cleaned and lubricated everything and replaced all of the hardware. Ever since then the rear brakes have been extremely aggresive and will instantly lock up if I don't lightly ease into the pedal. I've pulled the drums...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Finally in the process of getting my coolant changed. I've had new stuff sitting in the jugs for almost two months. I was out of commission for three weeks last month while recovering from the stupid virus so I've been trying to get caught up with everything since. Last night I drained out the...

    Dead truck... please help!

You don't have one, they were only used on EFI systems to disable the electric fuel pump in the event of an accident.

    Dead truck... please help!

Check the wiring around the driver side fender on the top side of the splash shield and look for green crusties, especially around the connectors. I used to see a lot corrosion in those connectors on the late 80s and early 90s trucks.

So what did you do with your truck today?

I put White Trash to work over the weekend hauling about 20 tons of crushed rock. Not bad empty but it really struggles with the trailer loaded on the hills around here. Wishing I had a turbo but I can't be laid up without my truck this time of year and can't afford anything else right now so...

    Muffler removal

I have a dual exhaust system with glass pack mufflers. The tail pipes exit behind the rear wheels. Inside with the windows rolled up I don't really notice it, but once you get above about 2,100 RPM it gets pretty loud. They have a very sharp snapping sound at higher engine speed.
