Yeah tried that. Now the EZ out is an EZ in. Snapped off in the top of the glow plug even with the head. I'll post some pics tomorrow.- bumblebeer

So I was replacing the glow plugs this morning, 7 of them went just fine. The other one not so much. The plug broke off right above the threads. The element came out everything else is stuck in the block. It was already soaked in penetrating oil, but I went to the parts store and got the good...- bumblebeer

I joined the club. Here she is. '88 F-350. Got it at auction. Paid more than I probably should have. She's a runner, or at least was before I got a hold of her. Needs a lot of work. 6.9 Sounds Hollow, Clatter/Rattle with Low Oil Level.
It was leaking just above the plastic cap on one of the injector lines, so I believe it would be on the HP side. I didn't know that! Still learning about these old Ford trucks. And trucks in general. Old Ford tractors on the other hand. ;) I appreciate the vote of confidence. And you're right. I know my welds can hold weight, it's just the speed that scares me. But I guess that isn't as much of an issue...- bumblebeer

Yeah, I think I can drill a hole... :rolleyes: I never said that I couldn't box the frame, just that I'm not confident with it. Me and my Lincoln buzz box like to stick to slow moving equipment. So that would include everything from '87 to '97? Meaning I could grab a front end or donor truck from any of those years for a more or less dill and bolt on conversion? That doesn't sound bad at all! Drilling is fine. I just don't trust my welds unless there is a lot of thickness and surface...- bumblebeer

Yep, the problem seems to be in finding the hubs. :dunno Don't like the idea of running adapters. It'll be used as a farm truck. Which is why 4wd is really not optional. The mud on the property is no joke. Mostly it will be used for hauling equipment, produce, feed, fertilizer, etc. Usually...- bumblebeer

I've been looking a while for an idi with a 5 speed 4x4 that's in decent shape. With a decent price. Haven't had any luck. What to look for in a truck that's been lifted?
I better put on some bug spray then. Lol. Otherwise the misses will put me in the doghouse. It would be used as a farm truck.
