Ok I looked on alldata at all TSB’s and recalls available for my truck. There’s too many to count. The only one listed regarding ABS is an update to the service manual about incorrect listing of component locations. Here’s the list.
Because most toggle switches can’t handle the amount of current that the headlights draw. That high current draw is what causes the original switches to fail. If you run relays, a separate one for each headlight high and low, 4 total, would be best. That way each relay is only carrying a...
I think that sounds correct, but that’s going off my memory and I don’t always trust it. Usually it’s just carbon build up in the threads. I take one of the better used plugs, and make a thread chaser out of it. All you need is a cut off wheel in a 4” grinder. First cut off the heating element...
Check all of the wiring between and or connected to the alternator and the regulator. Also check that the screw mounting the regulator is making a good ground connection. Mine did that for a while. I mean exactly like yours is doing. It was odd too, in that some times turning on the head lights...
I have guys at work ask me all the time to look at vehicles they are buying. It seems like the worse it is, the more likely they are to ignore what I say.
Not really any adjustments so to say, it’s more like the total effect of all the worn out parts. The clutch pedal rod bushing wears out, and then the pin that it fits on wears down. Then the bushing for the clutch pedal shaft can be loose as well. Then there can be wear in the clutch release...
The seal that he shows is listed as a thr ust washer seal for ‘93 and up applications. Apparently up through ‘92 the thr ust washer and seal were 2 separate parts.
Royal Purple synchromax is what I’m running and have been happy with it. I’ve always thought it made the shifts a little smoother than ATF, and maybe a little quieter.
Difficult shifts into first and reverse is a lot of times a clutch issue. Are you sure the clutch is releasing fully. Perhaps...
The auto adjusters worked too good on my truck. Until I got the parking brakes returning like they should, mine would keep tightening up until they were seriously dragging.
I just picked this up from NAPA today. I ordered it in on Tuesday. Had to come from WV. There was one more left. I also ordered one from Jeg’s on Monday night, but so far all I got was an email saying they will update me on my order status soon.
Price wise they all seem to be about $70-$80. NAPA...
Close to 25 yrs ago I had straight pipe true dual exhaust on a 7.3 NA. It was absolutely horrible. It would set off car alarms if I was really getting after it in a parking lot. I ended up with a y pipe to join them back together and a single inlet dual outlet 40 series flowmaster. That was the...
I wouldn’t worry too much about the screw driver clearance, that’s more a product of how far the area where that outer bearing rides was machined. The outer bearings don’t go all the way in anyway, they’re limited by the race in the hub if that makes sense. (Sorry if that’s confusing I seem to...
The main thing that caught my attention was that a vacuum leak equals a stiffer pedal. What you describe sounds more like air in the system somewhere still. If the pedal sinks with steady foot pressure, then the master cylinder is leaking past the piston. If there’s air in the system it’s like...
Napa wouldn’t let me order one off of their website last night, but Jegs did. It said it would ship from the manufacturer so I don’t think my odds are that great, but I guess we’ll see.
I’m pretty sure that’s your original axle. The Ford 10.25 was never up front. Also, I think the axle code only refers to the rear axle.
I’ve got a tip for cleaning up the threads on that spindle. Put a little bit of valve lapping compound on the threads of the spindle and then run the outer nut...
I thought about trying to make something work in the ash tray (area to the right) but it seemed like I was going to have to cut into the structure of things to get enough depth, and ultimately I liked it well enough on the floor, and it was easy. I ended up installing my brake controller in the...
Royal Purple Ultra Performance Grease. It’s my favorite grease for anything that deserves good grease. I use it in all wheel bearings, even my boat trailer. I have some equipment at work that it has virtually eliminated bearing failures by switching to it.
