    TQ lock unlock clunk

Is this a tough fix? something I've never tried. I don't think it's a deal breaker, but I don't know what I'm getting myself into.

    TQ lock unlock clunk

I have an opportunity to buy back my old 91 F350 dually from my son's friend. He's had it a year and a half, and is looking for a Cummins or PS. I haven't seen it yet but what he's telling me is there is a clunking in the trans. At highway speed going from coast to throttle it clunks. So I guess...

Help! I botched it! Oil overfill, coolant in oil after water pump r&r and oil cooler reseal.

IIRC the water pump bolts have specific holes to go into. I think 3(?) bolts go into the block. They need to be rtv'd. It's been a long time since I did a water pump, but I know a few bolts go through.

Holes on the sides of injectors

Don't over tighten the nuts on the lines.they can deform and they will never set perfect. On the offending injector, pull the nut up on the line and feel the steel line where it mates to the injector. If you have a big burr or lip, that might be your problem. It'll never set tight.

    low compression

Run it and take off the oil fill cap. If you're getting blowby like a steam train I'd say it's time for rings.

    Issues yet again.

Like Josh says, the ignition switch on the column can be a pain. Sometimes they split open and you lose connection

Oil leak above the oil filter, rear oil cooler head? what do I need to know before I start taking it apart?

I pulled off the wheel, the rubber shroud or inner wheel well cover thing first. Undid the motor mount bolts. Jack the motor up, and you can see the cooler bolts. And remember to drain the antifreeze first.

    Engine clatter

Like Bronco said. your timing is too advanced. Loosen the three bolts a little, and turn the pump towards the driver side about the width of a nickel. Tighten it up and try it.

A nut is supposed to go on the center shaft. Looks like the steering wheel is partially pulled off already.

NJ to ID - Road trip time!

Hey Stu, I had most of what Bart just said, but I figured you would know that. Def a jack and wood. Spare trailer tire. I had a blowout on the way down here and thank God I had it. Impact gun, etc. If you have an air tank I would bring it. I needed it too.

NJ to ID - Road trip time!

Congrats on escaping. I talk to a few people back north, and they tell me we'll get together when I come back. They don't believe me when I tell them I'll never go back. Never. I would get a trans cooler if you're pulling a trailer. Just some peace of mind. Going to be a nice ride. Enjoy it.

    Trailer Brake Controllers

I just picked up a Draw tite unit for the 87. 7 pin connector, etc. Going to be pulling a dump trailer, so I 'm getting ready to wire everything from front to back. Etrailer has a good video on the install in a old Ford pickup. Man I wish I could have done a turbo when I had it apart now.

Check your filter. Like I said in my other post, my truck would run for 10 minutes then start coughing and die. Change out the filter and it would do it again. When you start going up and down hills you mix all the chit in the tank. If you don't want to take a chanc driving it, but want to see...
