    Blueish white smoke when accelerating

Yeah, I did the tests. I picked up a HF tester for diesel cheap. It worked fine. Then you can determine what to do next. Once I found the bad hole, I picked up a HB leak down tester( I don't have $$ for expensive tools), and I had to make a hack to get it to work. Used some parts from the...

    Blueish white smoke when accelerating

If you plan on keeping the truck, definitely look into a pump and injectors. But you might want to do a compression check and leak down test. I just went thru the " my truck blows smoke on hard acceleration or going up steeps" blues. I replaced my pump, and injectors and that didn't fix the...

    Installing cab clearance lights

Why do we need a parking brake limit switch? Or is it just the parking brake dash light. I have the same thing hanging down in my 87.

    Manual fuel tank selector valves.

If mine went, I would do it. My last 87, the fsv was sticking. So I took it apart and got it going again.

Looks like the PO used to pick up asphalt in the back of the truck.

Man, I've never seen that before.Try taking 2 leaves out on the left and tighten up the u bolts. Watch that brake line. I would think if they were wearing on the inside like that both tires would be toed out. You could take a tape measure and measure from the inside of each tire front and back...

Two spring equal like close to 1 inch. Are the top 2 springs going to the shackles the same length? Looks like you have 2 dif packs.

Those springs look like the set I have on my 97 dump body. Check the axle for offset. Check the frame for straight.

The rtv was just to hold the gaskets in place while you bolt up. You should be good. Turbo piped through the cowl?

Wait to Start light (WTS) Light in the dash...Alternative?

I'm using led's to light my rear plate. Tied it into the original wiring for those lights. No problems, but I needed to find a good ground, otherwise they would be dim.

Anybody run 17 inch wheels? Thinking OEM used upgrade.

I'm running the Kuhmo Crugen 235 85 16's. They ride real nice and not that expensive. They have good reviews too. Aren't those wide tall tires noisy?

    Radiator support replacement

I don't have AC. Sucks, but I wouldn't have been able to pick up a support either. All I could find were made for trucks with no AC.

    Radiator support replacement

Nothing too significant. Still had some crosshatching on the cylinder walls, so that was a good sign. I had to replace all the exhaust valves due to recession. Guides were replaced also. Heads were milled, clearance set, etc. Block had some indenting from steel rings in the head gaskets, just...

    Radiator support replacement

Hey all, finally have my motor back together and the bugs worked ouy(hopefully), I can focus my attention to some body issues. Both sides of the support is just about on the frame, so it's time to replace. Any tips to get the old one out and new one in? Seems all the weight in the front is...

    6.9idi head retorqueing.

I would retorqe. Just installed rebuilt heads on my truck, and the builder asked me if I was using old bolts. Told him no, but he gave me a printout from his files that stated for retorqing old bolt s you should go.40-65-80-80. Nothing over because those bolts stretch. And he also mentioned that...

    Oil leak down filter

Pull off the drivers side wheel also. Once the motor is jacked, you can remove the rubber wheel well shroud and access a few bolts with a long extension. It's a pain but very doable. Stick the gaskets on because they will be falling off while you're trying to bolt up. Like Bronco said, pull the...

I'd say check the surface where the rubber o ring meets the housing. I've used PSD filters before and never had a leak. I don't think it's the cooler.
