Will the pedal assembly come out without pulling the steering column? I have the bushing set lying on the table but have not crawled under the dash to really study the job yet. I'm also thinking along the lines of riotwarrier in that some more material needs to be added to the pedal bracket...
I have used a couple cheapo brake controls that came with trucks and was not very confident in them. I now use MaxBrake control in both the towrigs and have been very happy with them. The first one we bought was kinda wonky and once we talked to MaxBrake about it they sent out a new updated...
Instead of a 7/8" allen wrench I used a coupling nut and a 6 point socket on a 3/4" drive air gun. The coupling nut @ $1.85 is a little cheaper than $35 for an allen wrench.

I have a '92 IDI with 425K miles. Complete minus alternator and gage senders. Ran decent was pulled for a 24V Cummins. $400. I can truck ship or deliver on your dime.

If you're still looking for the bracket I have one with a new NAPA tensioner I'd sell you for less than half what your junkyard wants. Don't need it with the Cummins in the truck now.
Nice work! On the motor mounts it looks like you could remove the existing front motor mount. Then fab mounts that reach back from those holes to the pickup crossmember. Since those bolts held the motor up before they should be enough to do it again; no need to bolt to the side of the block...
Oh, I'm still reading. I have a '96 International 4700 with a p-pumped DT466. I'll be going a little deeper into mine when the time comes as I need to do an in-frame on it. Still toying with swapping out the 545 Allison auto for an RTO-9513 but that will have to wait until the motor is...
Ummm, I'm pretty sure the '87 F350 4x4 C&C dually I cut up for parts was box stock Ford. And I learned the hard way you need 4x4 dually wheels to fit 235/85/16 tires without rubbing. Someone recently posted up a link to Accuride's catalogue page showing the various wheels used on Ford's over...
I have a '92 7.3 NA IDI motor that will need a new home soon. It's in the way of the 24V Cummins I wanna put in the truck.
426K miles, has a reman IP but I have no idea when it was installed. Return lines replaced, did not replace the caps as they were not leaking. Will include the new...
I'd buy a piece of preflared line from the parts store with fittings to go from the master to the hose end (or flare my own lines from a coil of brake line). Sounds like you were replacing the rubber hoses too so why bother with the stuck fitting? Cut the line just above the fitting with some...
How is the thottle connected now? For my Fummins swap the plan is to use the stock Ford cable. With the stock Ford thottle cable the stock cruise cable snaps right on the side. All stock parts and no messing around.
If your truck didn't come with cruise it is very likely the wiring is in...
IDK about this. Been running a D60 under new F250 springs for long enough to wear out a set of GY Silent Armors. No issues with death wobble...:dunno Yes, I had it aligned by a shop that had a clue about 4x4 alignments too. Full disclosure: I have 2" blocks on the rear instead of the 4" F350...
I used Summit exhaust PN SUM-680009 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-680009/
Bought it the same time I bought the 24v Cummins planning to install the exhaust when I installed the motor. Then the IDI exhaust fell off so rather than continue with the restrictive system I had I installed the...
How different are the bricknose trucks vs. the OBS trucks? I ask because I used a 5" kit from Summit for a 2000 Dodge 24v truck under my '92. Yes, I had to cut a few hangers off the pipes and reweld them to fit the stock Ford locations but the pipes fit surprisingly well. Food for thought...
Heads up for Cincinnati, OH area IDI owners. Bessler's U Pull and Save in Hebron, KY http://www.upullandsave.com/ has a F250 with a factory turbo system in their yard. As of Tuesday afternoon the only stuff I saw missing from underhood was the glowplug controller and the cruise module/cable...
There are no differences on the inner fenders/inner bedsides of the SRW/DRW beds. ALL of the difference is in the outer skin. The SRW bed outer skins form the wheel opening. The DRW bed outer skins are formed to be a part of the inner fender and to provide holes and reinforcement for the...
You might check your facts on the 2 5/16 ball ratings. They can be had to at least 30K otherwise the gooseneck guys would be screwed. Ball mounts are available to 16K... :)
Nice trailer though...
