Anyone in AZ do IP timing?

That's a little far for me but may be my only option so far... thanks for the offer! I just don't know exactly what it should sound like to When you get it to where the engine 'bump' starts, you are very close. You will also notice the difference in 'seat' power

Anyone in AZ do IP timing?

1st - Where did you purchase the new parts 2nd - Turn the pump 1/16" towards the passenger side (engine off) & see if it does better. Does not take much to get it close.

Front spindle nut size on duallies = 1-1/16 socket?

1-1/16" is the spindle nut, 3/4" x 16 fine thread. Should (maybe) be the lug nut size also.

Whine from the timing pump gear cover

Should be here: http://www.thedieselfiles.com/Ford/1985/1985%20Ford%206.9L%20Diesel%20Engine.pdf Page 22-08-65 on the 6.9 & should be the same for 7.3. It does wander a hair even when rebuilding.

How can I tell if I have a dually rear end

DRW is supposedly 6" wider than the SRW but may have bolt on 3" spacers on each hub. Just don't remember on the '86 but will search my manuals tomorrow.

How can I tell if I have a dually rear end

All '86 truck SRW Sterlings have the long studs even the 4wd w/1-1/16" lug nut. Have to use 3/4 impact on mine.

Whine from the timing pump gear cover

Screw the oil fill plug back in & close the hood so you don't here the noise. :idiot: Needs more silicone on the cover for a gooood seal

    NO REVERSE?!?

You have a C6 tranny & like 79jasper stated, time for a rebuild. Maybe new TC also. Probably never had work done on it over the years. Keep your friends out of the driver's seat or repairs may be more expensive & frequent.

    Question

Swap just the housing, do not interrupt the pump gear. You will have to pull the pump to remove it as you know.
