Price for this is all over the place
That's a little far for me but may be my only option so far... thanks for the offer! I just don't know exactly what it should sound like to
When you get it to where the engine 'bump' starts, you are very close. You will also notice the difference in 'seat' power
1st - Where did you purchase the new parts
2nd - Turn the pump 1/16" towards the passenger side (engine off) & see if it does better. Does not take much to get it close.
Should be here:
http://www.thedieselfiles.com/Ford/1985/1985%20Ford%206.9L%20Diesel%20Engine.pdf
Page 22-08-65 on the 6.9 & should be the same for 7.3.
It does wander a hair even when rebuilding.
DRW is supposedly 6" wider than the SRW but may have bolt on 3" spacers on each hub. Just don't remember on the '86 but will search my manuals tomorrow.
You have a C6 tranny & like 79jasper stated, time for a rebuild. Maybe new TC also. Probably never had work done on it over the years.
Keep your friends out of the driver's seat or repairs may be more expensive & frequent.
Hope all goes well at home. Feel they made the wise decision on that one. Will be back in after 72k miles since all will be forgotten by then:rolleyes:
