Yeah I took the batteries out before I did anything. If I run the truck and watch my tuner display the gear selection will sometimes show or flash neutral even tho it's in park. The truck computer seems to always think it's in 1st.
yes i can clear codes and the p1693 will come right back along with the p0606 code. i will add the wait to start light is delayed to come on when the key is turned but its always done this.
ive been reaching a lot and its all pointing to a bad PCM or ECM. i read i can take the ECM to a cummins...
Yes I basically had the whole truck/body/trans harness out. I didn't touch the engine harness besides unplugging it from the fuse block. Fuses and relays seem to be good.
I did some more digging with my scanner and it basically listed the p1693 as a dealer specific code. I really don't think I...
on my 98 i just finished doing some work on it and did some wire harness cleanup. so the problem i am having is the trans wont shift on its own. everything worked fine before i did all this work. i have a cs2 in the truck and in any gear it says 1st and if you try to drive it it says its...
yes i think it is mainly a 24v thing but i believe some 12v blocks are 53 blocks but not as problematic. i tried to do as much research as possible before i did my HG and i think i have the Mexican block. the Brazil (53) blocks tend to have some problems tho it doesn't seem to be very common.
i think the KDP can come out and not hurt anything besides the case. im actually just finishing doing a HG and studs on my 24v and doing a few other things while im in there. did you happen to check if its a 53 block?
the kit i got was extremely simple and everything bolted together fine. mine came with copper tubes to extend the pickups but i think i did my own thing anyway.
i cant believe no one tagged me... totally insulted LOL;Poke.
i have one picture you can see the latch and the door. i dont have the truck with me today so i cant get any better pictures. i can go full speed with the normal small filler. and yes i do use the truck and yes you do have to plan ahead.
pictures would help greatly.
when it comes to rusty metal best thing to do is cut all the old out and replace with new. layers of metal or anything overlapped is a fantastic place for rust to start.
buyers stuff is decent. they make a lot of plow equipment and stuff like that. the latches are probably whatever they can get their hands on im guessing. if they wont be seeing salt then the finish will hold up much longer.
in this year the manual trans trucks most likely were the H.O engine. my ISB auto is a 215 hp and H.O i think is 235 hp. you can get a programmer to solve the lower power. i think the only downside to these is if you get a 53 block but only a few have problems. ive almost searched my whole block...
welcome!! thats a sweet ride too.
just a reminder, you can put all your info of your cars or trucks in your signature below so when you ask a question its easier for others to help.
you can see mine below.
there are dyno sheets around here comparing the cams. there big heavy trucks so its tough to "feel" an upgrade thats really not going to give you huge power numbers. it also needs to compliment other upgrades as fuel and air. if you were pulling something and really using all da powa then it...
as said yeah pretty much but the process is the same. its just like tig welding regular steel so really no special process besides the rod melts at a lower temp.
