I do feel the pop when I put them on. And only one is leaking. I'll try again with some grease. Thanks for the tip, if i need it i'll head to a diesel shop when i'm in Portland.

    need single injector cap.

I just replaced all my caps, and injectors, but one is leaking. Replaced the O rings but that also didn't fix it. I'm looking for a single T cap. Anyone have one laying around? Thanks

    Spicer 6041 brownie box

I've got a nice Spicer 6041 brownie that I was planning on using in my International S-1600. I'm thinking now that it wont really offer me the overdrive I want for a truck that size, so i'll be putting a different transmission in. Anyway, I got the Spicer from a guy who cut it out of a Chevy...

glow plug/controller issue has me stumped

My glow plugs arent working. So i went out and tested the grounds - theyre all good. Then the relay - it was getting 12v from the ignition, but not clicking over. So i figure simple fix,its the relay. Swapped that out and i get the same symptoms. So i read a bit and find something that...

    need a few random parts

I need a old style 6.9 rocker arm and a #4 injector line. Just trying to get this motor running to see if the head gasket is leaking again. If so, I'll be dropping in something new.

    Dropped Uhaul rebuild

What's even worse is when I first talked to this mechanic he said nothing about the tower being broken (before I had photos). After I got the photos I asked him about the tower and he says it's no big deal he's already had a machinist fix it. Again i feel bad for the owner of this engine as...

    Dropped Uhaul rebuild

I'm putting it in a s-1600. Not really sure what would fit and what wouldn't. was pretty bummed to miss this Uhaul add... and now for this deal to fall through. I guess these uhaul motors were truly not destined for me!

    Dropped Uhaul rebuild

I wouldn't worry OLDBULL. It wasn't the shipping company. This motor arrived perfectly, and was dropped by a "mechanic".

    Dropped Uhaul rebuild

yeah. I really feel for the guy who owns this engine. He bought it late one night... found out it wont fit in his truck... was trying to sell it, and the day before the sale his mechanic dropped it getting it off the truck. Now the mechanic swears all it will need is a rocker arm and it'll...

    Dropped Uhaul rebuild

I found one of the rebuilt Uhaul motors and the day before I was going to pick it up it was somehow dropped. It was dropped on the valve cover, enough to bend the rocker arms. I haven't seen it, but have photos on the way... I'll update this thread when I get them. In the meantime...

    Blown Headgasket/s

not sure how the ford coolant systems are set up but i was taught to make sure the rad is full of fluid then hold the overflow line into a glass of water. If there's a stream of bubbles you're HG is probably blown.

    6.9 heads

I found a set of 6.9 heads locally (locally meaning 4 hours away). The owner claims they were rebuilt. However he has no photos, and they've been sitting for a while. He also doesn't know if the heads were decked. What's the most y'all would pay for something like this

    U-haul engines

Wish i saw this. I really need a reman for a S1600. Guess that's the downfall of finally hanging my project up, I don't check this site nearly as much!

if you had a fuel filter head with a built-in manual primer pump...

I opted for a priming bulb directly after the tank. Works great.
  17. J

I screwed up, now no start.

if you have fuel to the lift pump the last thing you could try is to tow it in gear with your injector lines cracked... I'm not really sure if it'll move the thick oil... but it'll be a lot better than only the starter.

    6.9 or 7.3 Lifters Deal....

from my research bushed bearings are stronger than needle bearings, and are what's used in performance builds?

    WMO and short distance drives...?

Your truck has more power running WMO because WMO has a higher BTU rating. More viscous fuel will not atomize better with worn fuel components. Fuel components also typically clog more than they wear. I also believe that WMO does not deposit as much coking as WVO in cold weather, as it's...

    6.9 or 7.3 Lifters Deal....

They may be better for the bigger valve springs... but really i think they're better when your truck goes from stop to go very rapidly. Or if for some reason you're slamming it in and out of reverse cookoo?

    6.9 or 7.3 Lifters Deal....

i've been doing some reading on this. Bushings are better for shock loading, bearings are better when oil delivery is a problem. So most people who build performance engines opt for bushings as they are more worried about the actual durability of the bearing(bushing) rather than if it will...

    Nice truck in CO

your average rig does not have a dually conversion, oversized transmission, and a gear vendor. Not sure of the stock 250 rear end but this one is a Dana 70. It's also 4wd To top this of this motor is apparently freshly rebuilt. It has a new radiator, hoses, waterpump etc. And a freshly...
