I had a 088 before that's why I had to go off airbox and intake hat because I haven't seen a 085s piping set up before but I could spot a 088 a mile away lol
6.9 and 7.3 had the same compression. The difference is the diameter of the head bolt holes 6.9 being 7/16 and the 7.3 1/2 inch. 6.9 heads can't be on a 7.3 because you can't put 7/16 in a 1/2 hole and have threads holding anything. Check the serial number of the block on driver side near...
Well rebuilding a pump your going to have to have it calibrated on a giant machine otherwise you'll never know what it's putting out and when. Could be barely any fuel or could have tons of fuel. Yes you can take it apart and put it back together with new seals and stuff but it has to be...
The cold air from it isn't too important maybe 5 horsepower you can run any filter set up really but filter must be big enough and not a Spector brand filter. On non turbo trucks I would recomend a carb style air cleaner as the intake on these trucks is quite loud
Just get the best looking pump you can find in a nicer looking truck for the best chance at scoring a decent pump. If it looks like it's been sitting it will likely have issues from old fuel.
I don't live in the rust belt but any rust I see is a no go. If I was looking at. 5000 idi it would have to be obs mint less 100k crew cab. I've seen single cab idi trucks very good condition actually 0 rust sell for 1000-1500 all day 2500-3500 is a decent extended cab 3500-9000 for excellent...
Well I'm 50 miles from the West coast and he's basically on the east coast so wouldn't that mean we've sucseefully went from west coast to east with idi's
Got "new" floor material, all badges and grill emblem, dipstick that's not falling apart/leaking and a bunch of missing clip screw things for the grill and surrounding trim from salvage yard today for 30$. Hosed it off some before I store it/ let dry out and will be replacing my crumbling...
Idk about using 5-40? I only use 15-40 and delo. Mine leaves drips around where I park and I use about 4 quarts every 3k. But I think most of it Is leaks
The 36 wide cores are the wide short radiators, they cost more and you can't fit a intercooler around them and radiators are tougher to find. I changed my core support out from wide to narrow but I got mine from salvage yard no rust or cracks for 35$
Should I just replace my body mounts then? Based on the condition of the ones under the core support i changed out I can't imagine the rest being very good. My bronco has a 3 inch body lift someone installed before me and I very much don't like the gaps in the body. That's why I was hoping a 2...
Never done a body lift, is it easy to do? 2 inch options for my 88 crewcab? Something i could make myself for cheaper? Easier to buy one? And should I buy new body bushings while at it? Would like to do this to fit 3 inch downpipe easier and more room under hood and access to fuel tanks senders...
It's negotiable on how restrictive it is, I don't know what's inside of it. Old ones tend to be filled with soot but it doesn't look that bad. I'm just saying because if already installing exhaust, might as well upgrade while in there kinda thing. But as long as it was from a diesel it "should"...
@crash-harris kine seems to do the same thing the other day at but I think mine is the mechanical fuel pump going out. Everything about our motors acting up seems to be spot on. Also noted my tick came back again waiting on oil to leak to add some marvel to it. One valve spring on my exhaust...
Mine had those green streaks and corrosion and it went out had a hole in it were that corrosion is on yours, if it's not leaking now it would likely be soon
