    Oil pressure delay

Aside from those, the only thing I can think of is that the pump is losing prime some how. But then I don’t get why changing the filter seems to fix it

    Oil pressure delay

    Nope, not going down either.

    Oil pressure delay

So, again, after letting my truck sit for 5 days, when I went to start it took about 10 seconds for oil pressure to show. I let it sit overnight and the next day same thing happened. I changed the oil filter and that fixed the issue again. Now it takes 1-2 seconds. But I’m only 1000 miles since...

Hooking up the waste gate to a vacuum source

I’m sure the vacuum thing would work. Using a piece of all thread or a long screw works too. Here’s mine

    IP question

I experienced the same symptoms, and they went away when I switched tanks. Dropped the tank that was suspect and it was full of rust, my fuel filter was full of rust, shower head was broken off, and fuel lines clogged up. Ended up replacing both tanks and all the fuel lines and that fixed...

Installing new Injection Pump and Injectors. Install new Hyd Lifters at same time?

Goat I used these Hylift Johnson US made ones in my truck and they were real nice quality. Price wasn’t too bad either. I bought them from this website https://rcdperf.com/products/6-0-6-4-powerstroke-hydraulic-lifter-set

    OEM 90° Fuel Connector

Yup, I used them there also. Just straight connectors though.

    OEM 90° Fuel Connector

On the tank selector you have 5/16” SAE quick disconnect fittings on the return ports and 3/8” on the supply. I didn’t like the nylon stuff and all my fuel lines were rusted out. I used 6AN fittings to make whips down to new stainless fuel lines along the rails. The fittings I used on the tank...

    Oil pressure delay

I replaced the line to the gauge with a 4an stainless braided one and that seemed to fix it. Probably some dirt got stuck in the old 1/8” copper tube I had. My pressure is actually higher now than before and responds immediately to throttle. Pressure is ~ 48 psi cold idle. Hot idle is around...

    Coolant leak

Same, and somehow it ended up in the valley pan and drained out the back and down the starter. My mind was blown when I looked in the valley pan and saw a red liquid in there. I was like ‘dang I got off road diesel in here?” thinking I had a return line leaking into that spot. But nope it was...

    Oil pressure delay

I just ordered another one. Funny, after changing the oil and filling up the filter before installing, I had oil pressure immediately on the first fire up. Now a few hours later I had another delay, maybe like 3 seconds this time when starting up. I’m gonna hook a second gauge up to verify if...

    Oil pressure delay

You don’t, I was thinking maybe it would hold oil in the galleys above it but that stuff would drain out anyway. I guess the anti drain back is just to keep the filter full in horizontal positions etc

    Oil pressure delay

@Nero looks like oil and filter change fixed the problem. I cut open the old filter and didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. I guess maybe the filter was restricted and that was causing the delay. But I don’t see any mechanism on the FL-1995A filter for anti-drain back. And the NAPA...

    Oil pressure delay

Yes, top of the back of the block is where the gauge is plumbed into. That’s a good idea about the filter too. I’ll try changing the filter since I’m due for an oil change anyway and see if that makes a difference.

    15W-40 and the 7.3 powerstroke filter (fl-1995a I think)

    Oil pressure delay

It’s an aftermarket auto meter gauge. It could be something funky with the gauge I guess, but air in the line shouldn’t matter, you’d still have pressure in the line. I’ll take a video later maybe so you can see what I’m talking about.

    Oil pressure delay

I’ve noticed recently that if I let my truck sit a couple days it takes like 10 seconds for it to build oil pressure on a cold start. I’m wondering if it has to do with the change in the oils viscosity with the hot weather lately. I previously remember the gauge immediately slowly climb up...

    No start/crank

Well you replaced starter so I assume your hot connections are good. But did you check the ground? Put an ohmmeter from your engine to your negative battery terminal. Make sure you gotta a good ground. Check it for tightness on the engine.

    Cold timing advance problem

You have the same exact issue as I did. Once I swapped the Russ set in there was no smoke on start ups at all. Still none and just fired it up after 2 weeks of sitting while I was on vacation.

    Power Steering Pump

Hey I’m interested in the hydroboost conversion since my vacuum booster is leaking and I’d rather upgrade than replace it. Where did you get the rest of the parts for the conversion? Can I use the same steering gearbox that I have on my truck currently or do I need to change that as well?

    Expected boost

Here’s some added anecdotal data from my experience. When I had Justin’s stage 1 injectors and his drop in turbo with the wastegate locked shut + CDDs 110 pump I was getting like 20-22 psi. When I switched to Russ’s injectors I’m down to 17-18 psi. But they don’t knock which is really cool...

    EGT questions

I think generally electromechanical equipment like your relays and ignition coils will be fine unless it is a VERY large EMP. Electronic equipment that operates on low voltages like integrated circuits and microchips, where there is hardly any insulation because everything is so compact, are...

    EGT questions

Yeah but when you get EMP’d by some high altitude nukes those solid state electronics are done. Also with these advances in the tech, who knows, maybe you’ll get ransomware’d or hacked and not able to use your vehicle. My allure to this truck was the simplicity and knowing that if SHTF I’m...
