    3 temp sensors have I . . .

The double prong is on the far end that feeds the. . . injector pump cold advance(?) The closest one is the over temp sensor for the idiot light(?) The center one above the timing gear is the temp gauge(?) and goes where? In that hole with the Allen head plug in it?

"Where does this go?" or "It's lost" . . .

Uh.. .oops? It wasn't like that when I took it apart. Speaking of which, I didn't put it together last time and that hole just opens up to the top of the bell housing. Makes sense. Thank you. Onto the next challenge. I still have to get to the other valve cover mod.

"Where does this go?" or "It's lost" . . .

Putting the '94 7.3 idiT engine back together and I pulled this hollow plug out of the plastic bag of miscellaneous. It can screw it, question is, is it supposed to? Sure hope the wife goes to town so I can run the intake into the shower and rinse it out.

Rain and waiting for an engine. . . .

Well, the dry floor and a shop was desirable when the engine was delivered to the freight depot by the new UPS called T-Farce. excuse me "T-Force". I had to say Farce because it showed up in a broken crate and upside down. I would have sent it back but am out of time getting this done outside...

    Cut / Notch a bumper

I dropped a line to them and also to Skys. The response from Skys was they have done it and cracked frame horns. No word yet from the maker of this item. Might not be a good thing. After this toy is together I will look at it again and see if I can find a way to wrap around the frame horn ends...

    CA Conversions Allison trans kit

I got the entire kit from CAConversions in Florida for a sizable chunk of change. My belief was getting everything from one supplier would help to diminish any problems. Now that I gotten into this project I have found a few suppliers of pieces parts and chunks. Could I have saved money with...

    Cut / Notch a bumper

My RSK came from Sky's Off Road Design in Springfield Oregon. Nice round tube. Looking at this one and another $500 with the upgrades, might be the way I will go in the future. Seeing that this has already been built and looking at it, the right way. Yeah, the more I look at this and think...

    Cut / Notch a bumper

If I went with a pair of offset receivers, I could look at using those holes, I am looking at a center mount and I suspect 3/8" steel is going to be my friend. Now if i was real smart i would wire an outlet outside for the 220 tomb welder of change the gas on my 110V Lincoln splatter welder.

    Cut / Notch a bumper

That might do it. The notches are about 4 inches deep and about 3-1/2 inches across. Truly a case of "Incorporating mistakes into the design." Followed by "Beat it to fit." Then "Paint to match." If you can still see your mistakes, you haven't used enough paint. Enamel paint is good. It...

    Cut / Notch a bumper

So the '94 CC 7.3idiT toy is parked on jack stands for the next 7 to 10 days and looking at the front reverse shackle mount I am considering putting a front hitch on it. The stock bumper is the desired choice with the receiver hitch dropping out below in the center of it all. The more I look...

Rain and waiting for an engine. . . .

Well the rains finally arrived after about 4 months of dry. Now the ground is wet enough to work on as I await the arrival of the engine coming from Promar, which was sent out on the 1st of Sept, some 17 days ago. I took a trip to the freight depot, and it is in town. Just in a trailer waiting...

    This does not look good

Just took a fast glance at your post. I had to chuckle at the "Way over budget". My wife FINALLY admitted that buying a newer machine would have been less money. Yeah, I started off with a 126K '94 F350 CC dually, 7.3 idiT with the E4OD for $7500 and now there is about $40K in front of that...

EPA Sheriff, Nosy Karens and my truck

Once upon a time I had a small block chev truck and ran open headers. Fun times idling thru the girl friends apt complex and setting off vehicle alarms. The first night was a bit of an accident. The following nights was fun to get closer to the parked cars and see how many would go off. Noisey...

Not to beat a dead horse..

My truck was her idea. Rockauto is your friend. "Her" truck is so far financially upside down, she can't whine much more. Tonight she decided I need Hagerty insurance on it. $50K full coverage I believe is about $132 a month. $80K would be closer to it and might pay some, some, of the labor...

Borg Warner 1356 tranfer case gear shift

Youtube has lots videos on rebuilding the BW 1356. Sounds like your pump has broken free and is spinning inside causing no oil going where it should. Start looking there and then you get to take yours apart. Best of luck!

    CA Conversions Allison trans kit

Hidee Hi, Hidee Lo, Hidee Ho. . . Got to the point now of waiting for the engine to show up before doing much more. A few pics of the CA Conversions kit and the fun I should have installing the TCM and...

Promar Engine ~~ New Jersey, Need an engine?

It's late, and has been a long enough day. Some of you have read the story of my 7.3 idiT and the busted baffle inside the valve cover that coated the internals with metal shavings. This was on a Promar rebuilt engine with about 6,000 miles on the clock. I got it sent off to...

    93 IDI with E4OD.

I read the Monster rebuild story on E4OD's am curious as to how that trans works for you. On paper they have a good story about trans quality building even with reports of a lack of support.

As the project rolls along. Very, very slowly. Drive train build.

Yesterday was entertaining enough and gave me an opportunity to flex my stupidity. I sold off the old E4OD and told the new owner all of it's deficiencies. He was pleased enough to get it and I hope it works out for him. The photo below is a study of stupidity and what not to do. In the back...

As the project rolls along. Very, very slowly. Drive train build.

Well lets see now, I spoke to Promar who said they found nothing wrong with the engine other than the broken oiler that I sent them and a few scratches on bearings. Nothing to produce a bottom end noise that I suspected, strongly suspected hearing. Guess i will call them Monday and find out...

As the project rolls along. Very, very slowly. Drive train build.

Back again. DSL came back on this afternoon and finally got the last bracket off this evening. Researched the rear spring perch and suspect I will be making another trip to town tomorrow for a few more bolts. See if I can find a few pics of the baffle that started all this including the...

Well, the computer DSL line is down and the phone only works in a few select areas outside, if your lucky. Waiting for the engine, need to pop off the other brackets to make room for the 4X4 leaf springs and stuff the Allison under the truck. Rain coming tonight and I need to get moving. Will...

As the project rolls along. Very, very slowly. Drive train build.

That fastener I am waiting for is either a Flange bolt or a Ferry bolt. Complete with the 12 point head. They should be here Friday, maybe. Today was entertaining enough. I got the front bracket mounted and while playing with that a call from Promar engine saying they didn't find much...

As the project rolls along. Very, very slowly. Drive train build.

Bolts with the Allen head call into question the hardness rating. I briefly looked into those and decided to pass. The wife reminded me that auto makers did not needlessly spend money building vehicles. I had to agree and plunk down the big bucks, very, very reluctantly.
